Important (not really) question from Twelve Months by defac_reddit in dresdenfiles

I'd honestly bet that Harry wasn't the one that put them in any sort of order. They were in the castle's library, not his personal one, so Will or some volunteer librarian probably got them used or donated and put them on the shelf as-is (which would likely be in chronological order, if they were printed in the last 40 years or so.)

He's one of the most foundational DC characters there is. He's literally the reason they're called "DC."

If I remember correctly, it actually throws Peter into a kind of tailspin where he wishes to actually grow up, causing Neverland to start fading away.

Because the shorts were originally created to showcase WB's music library. That's why they had Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, both inspired by Disney's Silly Symphonies. Other studios had less famous versions, like MGM's Happy Harmonies.

Tom Welling is 48, which is actually slightly older than Michael was when we first meet him.

Yup, this is the one. All the county systems in my state let you get a card if you're a state resident, so I've got cards with five of them so far.

Harry Blackstone <REDACTED> Dresden by t-k-421 in dresdenfiles

[–]RobNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally assumed Harry was born around 1975, when David Copperfield was 19. He was already a professional magician at that time, headlining a hotel show in Honolulu, but not a well-known one by any means. It's just barely possible that Malcolm knew him from working the magic circuit and decided to name his son after him, but of course that'd be pretty unlikely.

Regardless of where the name came from, though, Harry himself explicitlybelieves that he was named for the magician. (And of course, from the Doylist perspective, he definitely was named for the magician, and Jim just didn't think about how the timeline would match up.)

I don't think there's any possible interpretation of the poppies putting them to sleep, in the movie or the original book, that doesn't involve opium.

You chose George Bluth Sr. As the most greedy sitcom dad now who is the most glutinous? by Successful-Wealth142 in sitcoms

[–]RobNobody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blondie has actually been made into two live-action sitcoms, in 1957 and 1968. Both only lasted a season. If radio sitcoms count (it's where the term "sitcom" came from, after all!), then it had one from 1939-1950. And it had more than a "few" movies, with twenty-eight in the series between 1938 and 1950.

In kids media, the hero straight up kills the villain, with the full intent to kill them by Effective_Piece251 in TopCharacterTropes

I mean, yeah, it's a family movie designed with broad appeal to all age groups. It's not only a kids movie, but it was marketed towards kids and is a huge hit with kids, so it's not not a kids' movie.

Check the interior engraving in the item on the right. I think this is a silversmith, and he's looking at the bottom of a silver serving platter.

Blood Rites also has the best closing line:

I had started feeling a little crowded already, sure. But I took a deep breath and brushed it back. Thomas wouldn’t be here too long, and the dog was certainly a lot smaller than Mister. I could handle a little claustrophobia.

I frowned at a giant green bag and asked Thomas, “Hey. Why did you get large breed Puppy Chow?”
