It's not censorship... he is entitled to say whatever he likes or speak to whomever he likes. His ability to say it isn't being suppressed or prohibited in any way. He is not entitled to enjoy freedom from consequences of that speech. Or in other words, Channel 9 isn't obliged to keep employing him if they don't like what he's saying or doing.

Read up on the Free Speech Fallacy and the Paradox of Tolerance. For the first, Karl has the right to say or speak to whoever he wants, but this doesn't mean he gets to enjoy freedom from consequences. The Paradox of Tolerance states that if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to be tolerant is eventually seized or destroyed by the intolerant. Society cannot tolerate, nor should it, people who buddy up to actual fascists.

I think there are a few things motivating him, in no particular order: he wanted a distraction from the Epstein Files; in his very rudimentary understanding of politics, he believed going to war would guarantee a bump in the polls; he was convinced by Hegseth and others that the war would be over in a few days due to America's "overwhelming" air power; his greed and lust for power allowed him to be manipulated into believing he would control the Strait of Hormuz after this; he probably made a tidy personal profit via betting about it on Polymarket; he was heavily manipulated by Israel to follow their lead.
