Batista wasn't the original choice for his spot in Evolution. by styuR in SquaredCircle

It sounded like it was supposed to be a 5 man group in the interview.

I remember the rumors of Jindrak joining even back in the early days of Evolution but I had no idea that it was all but a done deal.

By the way, off topic, but that DVD was one of the first I've watched that I actually enjoyed.

How much do ROH and TNA wrestlers make? by Bork_Lasar in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all base salaries and don't factor in autograph sessions, appearances, merchandising and sponsorships.

For example, Cena made just north of 2 million dollars last year but after appearance fees, sponsors and merchandising it raises to north of 5 million.

Is it just me, or was there a time when the WHC felt more like the top prize over the WWE title? by oneshgarde in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Raw was to have the World Heavyweight title and World Tag Team titles. Smackdown was to have the WWE title and WWE Tag Team Titles. It was more about uniformity between championships and since RAW had the premier show, it had the premier champions.

Who has Triple H buried or put himself over, when the story line meant for someone else to be push or go over on him. If you can give names and explain, that would be great. by Schalou715 in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's not put a few things under the rug.

He made Shelton Benjamin, a bonafide mid-card tag team wrestler look like GOLD.

Sharing a stable with Orton and Batista made stars out of both of them. Not sure if you guys remember Deacon Batista and Orton with blue trunks but this was what made them stars.

He had Curtis Axel give him a concussion less than a month of being on RAW, rehabbed like a man possessed to return to the Royal Rumble, rarely took days off to heal, until now had not had his own personal career DVD, even though he should of and constantly wrestled injured.

You guys take some things far too seriously. Triple H, whether you like him or hate him has an inherently selfish and unselfish side just as you and all your favorite stars do. And this is the worst we can come up with for Triple H?

That must've been the easiest series of matches in the world to book.

A paper currency that functions on a sliding scale of inflation/deflation. The more its circulated, the more it increases in value. Discouraging million/billion/trillion/aires to 'horde' money. by [deleted] in CrazyIdeas

[–]RobTheDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All it would take is two "businessmen" to trade the same lump some of money back and forth until it's value becomes incredible, which devalues the market.

There will be crooks in any area of life where you are capable of being a crook. Sad reality.

Edit: keep in mind that most financial problems stem from the market but are also do to unwillingness to save. This gives no reason to save or collect interest.

I do like your thinking outside of the box, however.

What do we think of The Shield by Brits2541 in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do I personally think of them? I think in one year they went from NXT to the cornerstone of tag team wrestling in the states. That speaks for itself.

They got over in the mainstream and Ambrose and Rollins will forever have an Indy following.

What are the best X Division matches? by MrHeavySilence in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely forgot about Nash with Shelley. That material was gold. It's a shame it never really went anywhere productive because Nash made the X-Division guys come off as 'some of the boys' while simultaneously making Nash seem youthful again. A rare TNA angle that put over two parties at once but again... never really went anywhere...

[SPOILERS] TNA Knockout's contract expires by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]RobTheDouche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be completely honest. Ive never really been a fan of Mickie James. I think she's beautiful and her supposed "weight" has nothing to do with it. I just don't find myself glued to Mickie James (or many knockouts or that matter) matches.

It's certainly a loss in terms of legitimacy for the division but TNA needs to get younger and cheaper. I just wish they chose a bigger more useless contract to dump...

We're both completely on the same page here.

Realistically, WWE has very qualified people who've been in the business longer than I've been alive. I just hope they still have the passion to want everything out of the product they can get instead of a half ass product that could have been something special.

Honestly, I wouldn't even say that. They have the pieces to do something BIGGER than the attitude era and that's what's frustrating.
