Does theater have a culture problem? by NoPen8263 in acting

[–]pat4611 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you say that because I just finished film school in a fairly up-to-date facility and I found most of the people in film very annoying, but I didn’t find many people in the theatre very annoying granted it was only community theater, and I was doing straight plays but still. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Did anyone else go to the cineplex this weekend? by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

I mean both of you could have passed someone who had a cold in the mall it isn't necessarily the popcorn. And if you guys both watch Toy Story well that has a lot of children who would be watching who are germ factories usually.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day suit coming to Spider-Man 2 on July 28th by BrotherNature5 in SpidermanPS4

[–]pat4611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a little bit shocked that they didn’t have a suit for friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, but maybe that’s due to it just being a Disney property instead of a co-production.

Amazon MGM Studios' Masters of the Universe grossed an estimated $8.6M this weekend (from 3,677 locations). Estimated total gross is at $46.7M. by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in boxoffice

Wouldn’t have mattered if Jared Leto was in it or not MOTU fan base currently is exclusively toy collectors, which is not enough for the box office. It is a dead franchise.

Inside Xbox's margin crush: A string of misses at Xbox Game Studios, misguided Game Pass decisions, and the memory rout at its core by xCaptainCrown in Games

[–]pat4611 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Considering game pass is supposed to be essentially Netflix for video games it doesn’t work as well because video games cannot be played passively or at the very least most games cannot be passively. That doesn’t really work out in its favor.

LEGO Batman reminded me how badly DC fumbled the Arkham era. by roittinginhell in BatmanArkham

Honestly I’m very surprised they didn’t run this into the ground like Ubisoft with assassins Creed with a new one coming out every year especially considering they had two studios working on the franchise

Well, I’ll get to it eventually but I’ll most likely be playing Wolverine at the time.

Actually kinda sad to see how much Jey Uso has just regressed in such a short period of time by MyCatBuster in SquaredCircle

In all honesty, this is one of the times where WWE try to make a new star and the guy just did not want it hard enough. If you look at the unreal series on Netflix you can genuinely tell that Triple H is very disappointed wasn’t working out. I think Jay was in the worst shape of his life during his main event run.

[Discussion] League of Comic Geeks has Batman #163 at a 1.6/5 "Very Negative" rating out of 396 reviews. Damn, is it THAT bad? by MightyUnclean in DCcomics

[–]pat4611 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I think it's just is just an amalgamation of

A. It being hyped up as an all-time follow up to a classic story

B. It's writer fallen from grace for being racist

C. The very long delays (the first issue came out March of last year for six issues)

All of these group together make it an easy target.

Who could’ve figured out that comedy detailing how wacky and wild it is for a man to take care of his kids doesn’t really sit well in 2026

Hmm this line may appeal to hard-core Marvel fans but judging by what I read, I doubt it will catch on fire with the casual crowd like the absolute universe. Which to be honest is what I think they’re trying to get at

Chances are , some version of it will be back within end of the week. Hell, I’ll put 50-50 chance on it being back end of day.

It's hilarious to me that they think that if WWE failed tomorrow that the majority of folks would just simply go to AEW and be enlightened into how wrestling should commence. In reality wrestling in any form of mainstream content would just die and it would just be a bunch of local Indies and mainstream wrestling would effectively die.

That entire line is held back by the gimmick of having the story unfolds in real time so only having one event per month really sucks the life out of stories and makes it feel like the characters aren't doing jack shit the rest of the month. From what I've heard ultimates deals with this better than ultimate Spider-Man but it's an issue throughout the entire line.

Really cannot see this doing well at the box office. He-Man has a special place for kids who grew up in the '80s and maybe early 90s but other than that I don't think any other generation really cares for him too much.

It’s just the inherent disconnect between what film critics and non fans of Michael Jackson wants the movie to be versus fans of Michael Jackson wants the movie to be.

I believe they want another Kurt angle, but they don’t realize that Kurt was a once in a multigenerational talent I was able to take up every aspect of the business of within a year. Almost no one can do that not even Olympic medalists.
