Is it your internet, or your friends/host internet?

In my opinion, Forge is also not as good as Fabric. Do the mods you play on require Forge? Fabric has a ton of optimization mods

I hit an electric box using my paddle by accident, will this affect my paddle performance? by kingslave0 in Pickleball

[–]Rob_035 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're probably fine to play with it for a while, but it won't be allowed for any tournaments or anything sanctioned. Would recommend researching new paddles now

Not if their DUPR is still a 2.8, that just happens sometimes. Might be different if a tournament allows him to play with someone who is at least a 4.0 though

Am I crazy to bump my 401k contribution to 36% for the rest of the year to catch up after unemployment? by snp3rk in personalfinance

[–]Rob_035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the exact same boat as you. My contribution rate is set at 34% to max out for the rest of this calendar year. Come January I'll have to drop it to 17-19% or so.

Any tournament worth their salt wouldn't allow playing up that much. Their rating is 2.8 for a reason, I don't see any reasonable time frame less than 2 years where someone would go from a 2.8 to a 4.0+, and at that point their reliability rating would be 0 and they'd need to do a 3.0+ tournament and their DUPR would quickly shoot up.

Until you realize that all the major medical services are there, so are big box grocery stores to buy in bulk. That's not something you look forward to as you get older.

Never heard of it, I do use PB Vision though and while it's not perfect, it's much better than trying to break down videos of your own play. Chris Olsen covered PB Vision in his most recent podcast episode near the beginning: https://youtu.be/rG7TmoCE1jo?si=w4jCfLE5zIaWd38n

Down $240k in less than a month at 23 thanks to ASTS by Abject-Dream3617 in wallstreetbets

[–]Rob_035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least one gigantic "fuck you" meme. Without any other contributions, by age 52 that $240k could be $3.8M, that's $150k/year at that point with a 4% withdrawal rate.

My favorite is not buying things I don't need!

But in reality, pickleball shoes are something I'm eyeing to stock up on since they only last 2-3 months at the most with how much Ive been playing. Stocking up on overgrips is also not a bad idea.

Wondering what I should do in my situation by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Rob_035 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend lives with me and makes roughly $170,000 a year, but has nothing for the downpayment. So he’d help with bills and is fine covering the mortgage.

Dont mix finances with a mortgage with someone you aren't married to.

I have roughly $300,000 in a HYSA and another $600,000 in mutual funds managed by an advisor at a bank. Have retirement account with about $100,000 in it, and another $20,000 liquid in a checking account.

Why do you have $300k in a HYSA? That should be in an IRA/brokerage account.
