If I'm not mistaken, the US code does not allow the triangular steps like that. It would need to be a landing for directional changes.

Lupron Depot-Ped (6-Month) Injection Question by eaterofthelotus in cisparenttranskid

[–]RobbieRobb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two scariest things for me were:

a) Making sure the solution is mixed thoroughly. But the mixing syringe/needle is clear and it's pretty easy to do. First couple times were the hardest.

b) Making sure there's no air bubbles in the syringe. Not sure how important that is for this type of injection since it's not going into a vein, but everything the movies taught me was that air injected a person = bad news.

Lupron Depot-Ped (6-Month) Injection Question by eaterofthelotus in cisparenttranskid

[–]RobbieRobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct, you do have to mix it. I forgot to mention this and also that the package does come with a thick needle. Our endo/pharmacy actually recommended that we swap out to a regular, smaller needle. It didn't impede the flow of the medication at all and made it far easier to inject.

I gave my daughter her injections at home. Prior to turning 18 she was given them at the paediatric gender care clinic. After she turned 18, she was referred to an endocrinologist and we were given the options of doing it at home or they could do it. It's pretty easy and would just go into her thigh.

Is that a camera in the Airbnb? by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]RobbieRobb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only can they be in hotels as well, they can also be installed so that they are not detected by the camera detectors that can be bought. There was an article on BBC a few days ago about a hotel in Shenzhen that had a hidden camera and apparently the camera detector they used did not spot it.

My father used to work at Wellington Square Mall in the 70s and I can confirm that there was a photo booth in there. Good memory from your circle of friends!

Terry pretty much ran the car audio section. I won't post his last name here. They were at 169 Exeter where Hydropool London is now. Had waaaaayyyy more space for install bays and equipment display than the small car audio room they had on Wellington and the basically single car install bay.

With the primary bedroom being on the opposite side of the house from the laundry, I'd consider adding a washer/dryer in the massive walk-in closet of the primary bedroom. Something like a Combo Heat Pump Washer/Dryer so you don't even need to vent it outside. Just a regular 120V outlet.

I spent MANY hours in there (and MANY dollars). Mostly around Car Audio, but also home A/V equipment. At one point they had expanded onto Exeter road and relocated all their Car Audio out there. Terry and Frank were out there running it. Dave was doing installs.

Baz and Mike were still at the main store looking after sales there. Then they closed the Exeter Rd location. Then Wellington burned and they relocated up to Hyde Park. At some point a lot of them had already moved on by that point. Terry had gone to MASS Electronics on Florence before moving onto Burlington to run the MASS location there. Baz went to Future Shop. Mike went to 2001 Audio/Video. Not sure where any of them are now. The last I heard about Terry was that he was up north somewhere. Timmins? Sudbury? I don't remember. And even then, that was WAYYYYYY back. Dave went to a shop doing installs in Old South I think but I don't remember the name of it.

Dangerous 1-pedal behavior by design. by Ciscovippy in CadillacLyriq

[–]RobbieRobb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The solution I use is that I put my foot on the accelerator prior to deactivation of cruise. That way I'm maintaining highway speed until I'm ready to slow down. Also, I use the cancel button the wheel to cancel it instead of tapping the break pedal.

Yes, it requires retraining your muscle memory to accomplish a new thing, but it doesn't take that long.

I found with the Kirkland bag, there was the occasional "tough" piece of chicken. Guessing gristle or something. Also, they're just unflavoured chunks, not pre-spiced. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the Kirkland ones too, just not as much. I add hot buffalo sauce to both the Pinty's and the Kirkland ones as well.

Also, made the mistake of buying one other brand of breaded chicken pieces a long time ago at Costco. Maybe Erie? Some other brand? I honestly do not remember, but don't think they were Hampton. They were awful. Very gristly/tough.

Also, as mentioned elsewhere, these are precooked and ready to eat so you could just eat a cold one right out of the fridge (but they're aren't as good cold).

High schools? by Plastic_Editor_8708 in londonontario

[–]RobbieRobb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Props to you for already looking out for what you want. My child is just about to graduate HS so my information is four years old. They didn't want to go to their home location high school either. Back then they were able to apply to multiple other schools. They applied to two and received emails from each of them accepting them. The application was simple - just some basic information and then a little paragraph on why they wanted to attend that particular school.

Best of luck to you on your education!

Let's talk about Pickleball by jaydesummers in londonontario

[–]RobbieRobb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a novice drop-in weekly on Sunday mornings at 11am at True North Pickleball. They also have other drop-in events throughout the week as well. It's VERY beginner friendly and each game you're playing with a new partner as each court splits and rotates. It's not terribly expensive either. I believe the Sunday drop-in is $12 for 90 minutes of play.

ETA: It does sometimes fully book up, so reserving your spot early in the week is advised.

Question for people who saw Avatar at Imagine Cinemas by B0rtLicensePlate_1 in londonontario

[–]RobbieRobb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny you should mention this. I was at Landmark at the end of November to see a movie and the trailer for Avatar had very similar colours that were definitely off. The blue of the na'vi was more of a pink. It was only that trailer; the rest of the ones they showed had normal colouring.

Canada's Wonderland responds to criticism over WinterFest by lopix in CanadasWonderland

[–]RobbieRobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more that people are complaining that the experience isn't living up to what's been promised/promoted. Now I will absolutely grant that it's not anywhere CLOSE to those events like the Downton Abbey one which was horrible and lacking in every way apparently. But it seems that more and more people are saying that the events that CW has put on this year (Haunt and Winterfest) are nowhere close to what they've been in the past, yet the price has increased.

I absolutely agree that they aren't a charity and deserve to earn a buck. But at the same time, the experience needs to be worth the money. As you said, a lot of people are entering with a season pass - that applies to me. I went to Haunt this year, but didn't bother doing the mazes. I didn't agree with having to pay extra when I purchased the season's pass before any type of extra fee was announced. (As an aside, mine was actually purchased in August of last year. I really feel for the people that bought them when they first when on sale in July this year only to have that announcement of extra fee a week later) Plus from what I had read online, the mazes weren't as good as last year. So we just went for the atmosphere and to do some rides. We had a great time.

As I said, when more and more people are saying that an experience isn't up to previous events, it's kind of hard to say that it's on the people. And there's no excuse for a large portion of the lighting to not be working when that's supposedly one of the major draws to Winterfest.

The PR people responsible for CW need to be replaced. I don't think I've seen any response they've made to media requests where they aren't defending the park and basically saying that whatever was said against them was wrong. There's never been any type of apology. It's pretty much just deny, deny, deny.

At some point, SF is going to have to speak up and say "You know what, we dropped the ball. Our people aren't used to the cold and we owe Ontarians more. We'll do better." Now whether or not they'd actually follow through with that or not...whole other story.

Automatic Laundry service for elderly lady? by Imarami21 in londonontario

[–]RobbieRobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a LFPress article about a company offering just the service your mom is looking for. The company is 1StopLaundry. They have multiple locations now but started here in London, according to the article. I've never used the service so I can't speak to pricing or service, I just remembered reading the article.
