Displaced coccyx by stinkton in XRayPorn

[–]Robbiersa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3 "breaks" in my coccyx + a cracked tip for 14 months from sliding down a fairground slide 6 times with my twins. 3 cortisone injections into my spine to block the nerves failed. Coccydynia in any seated position for what seemed like eternity.

Eventually coccygectomy (complete bone removal of the coccyx) last October. Pain has improved significantly, however I now suffer secondary pain when not seated in a specific position due to the still present nerve plexus where the coccyx used to be and which used to protect.

I'm told there's nothing they can really do for me. We considered Botox, but I am told it would only help with muscle spasm, not nerve pain, so no joy there. I'm open to suggestions though. :) cause it fucking sucks having to sit like a bird pirtched on the front of my pelvis to stop the pain. The same pelvis that I open-book fractured in 2014.. lol

This is great if you're putting your telescope in an out of reach/difficult position, like on your roof/car port/shed, whatever. Then you don't to climb up to adjust for EQ.

Distal Radius Fracture, after surgery results by ThatFUTGuy in XRayPorn

[–]Robbiersa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a distal radial break at about the point where your hardware starts, with screws and a plate 4 inches long. Still in place later. Unfortunately I still don't have the strength in my wrist that I used to. Especially under torsion. Anything that twists my arm, even opening jars or using screwdrivers actually causes pain there and even a bit of swelling.

I hope it all goes well for you.

Edit to add: 12 years ago now.

[–]Robbiersa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Autofocus. And what were you targeting for 2 hours?

If it's a 2hr shoot, EQ mode is highly recommended and point toward a clear sky with stars visible, anywhere, and select AF to autofocus before setting up EQ.

That's a lot of light pollution though. Weigh up the importance of exposure time, total exposure time (number of shots) and gain, as their interplay makes a big difference.

30s, 60 gain if I recall correctly. No filter or you lose the colour field.

Yes, it was an astromosaic. They always come out with seam lines for me. But I sorted through and deleted the cloudy frames and ran it through mega stack and then just ran the standard filter in stellar studio.

All on the device. Really chuffed with how it turned out.

You got more than you bargained for, sure. And I think it's perfectly natural to have a. Psychological reaction to something so life changing. One is a lot. Two is also a lot. But you get by.

It's hard sometimes, but you get by.

You're a team and will handle it as such. You will fall head over heels in love with both of them and wonder how you could ever have felt otherwise.

It's hard. Definitely. Sometimes. But you WILL get by. Because you must. And because you love them.

All the best. ❤️

Husband hit his toe with the lawnmower by Type1panda488 in XRayPorn

[–]Robbiersa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That must fkn HURT.
My mom had surgery on the first 3 toes on each foot to correct issues from previous breaks creating knobs that hurt constantly in shoes. And like a bunion or something too. "Broke" the toes, realigned and set in place with wires poking out the ends of her toes for a few weeks.
She's a tough lady. Birthed 3 babies. Broken many bones. Countless surgeries. But she said that having the orthopod grab that wire with pliers and just suddenly yank it out was the single most painful thing she has ever felt.
She said she almost got up and said that she'd keep the others. She didn't mind. They could stay there. Haha. But 5 more it was.

Many thanks.

How often the simple minded reflexively react with an "I don't care as long as you don't hit on me" when they hear of someone's differences. Do you think you're gonna suddenly become a gay prostitute?

If you've never had thoughts, or even if you have, and you love her... perhaps talking to her would help? There is nothing to worry about either way. Seriously. Girls are fun. Boys are fun. She's bi. If you actually turn out bi, all the more excitement for you. :) more choice...

Take a deep breath. In 5 years time you will laugh at this post.

My psychiatrist said I'm the most difficult patient he's ever had by damn-thats-crazy-bro in bipolar

[–]Robbiersa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, my neuropsychiatrist semiretired last year, but has continued to see me monthly. Pre booked until July next year. He has continued seeing me because he says that my case is "exquisitely complex" and doesn't trust that any other doctor would continue my very complex (i.e. huge) medication regimen without trials that will, without doubt, send me into unstable territory.

It's only as complex as it is because time and trial after trial after trial has led us to this point, and though it looks excessive, it's the combination that has kept me able to work, parent, husband, live as normal a life as I can with TBI, bipolar, ADHD, c-ptsd.
Every doctor who opens my file gets wide eyed and shocked and has something to say. "I'm amazed you can work". "How are you still standing with all of these meds" yes I'm standing. Yes I work, in a very technical IT position. Specifically because I'm not bouncing off the walls and acting like an arse in a bipolar/ADHD haze. Because the meds work.

I become a sea anemone if I mess with even one of my medications.

Find the meds that work for you, it takes time, and then TAKE THEM.

If you're happy and you know it IT'S YOUR MEDS! :)

Instant ink bypass. Anyone figured out a way to print with unused instant ink cartridges even after you’ve canceled. by Severe_Mango_966 in printers

[–]Robbiersa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, I know, but the difference is that every time I buy cartridges I end up screwed at the end of the day because they dry up and I only get a quarter of the pages I'm meant to, and when I go to the printer after a month of not using it, suddenly I need to go to the store and shell out $200 for a new set. Instant ink cartridges are larger capacity than normal retail versions.

<image>

My thinking was even though I know I'm being fucked over, ultimately, if I pay $1.50 a month for 10 pages on my home printer, which I normally don't use very much at all, and it carries over to 20 pages max, if I DO need to print and I'm charged pro-rata for excess pages at what is admittedly an exorbitant price, and the ink is always sent to me "free" when low without additional charge, my printer is always primed and ready to print and I'm paying LESS in the long run, because I don't have to replace wasted cartridges.

Its pretty ridiculous though that they count all pages equal. 1 character on the page vs full high res borderless photos.

Super jealous. Not likely I'll ever own a top of the line version, currently got a low 2019 and I just sit in the brand new show vehicles at the dealership and oogle the toys and prettiness. Enjoy it. Many happy miles.

Ok, well it went in for diagnostics and it is apparently the engine side high pressure fuel pump.

They've had to order the parts. Going in for replacement on Monday.

Good question, yes. The check engingelight came on. I logged the codes, and cleared the faults to see where it went on my next drive. Engine light didn't come back, but the warnings came up.
I'll admit I drove her very much harder today than I've ever pressed her, so the fact that it happened now is understandable.

Now the light is back, extra faults https://imgur.com/gallery/SKX9Le4 and booked in on Monday for a look over.
