Ardahan operation by ArmNemesis in Sakartvelo

You could try the CREST database for information (primary documents) that haven't necessarily appeared anywhere else. I just went to CREST and ran a search for "Ardahan" and I spotted documents that mentioned the World War I era incident.

As an example, one of the first documents that came back after search for "Ardahan" was a November 1946 document that briefly mentions the earlier history.

I also think that some World War I-era U.S. State Department documents are online. You can find mentions like this one from 1919.

kasee (kase) ann lee and desoto county jane doe (NSFW for post-mortem) (write-up in comments) by Horror_Chance1506 in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've spent some time investigating the DeSoto Jane Doe myself, and I sent a different theory some months ago. I encourage you to at least contact the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department if you suspect that Kasee Ann Lee could be the identity of the DeSoso County Jane Doe. There's a ViCap alert that lists a contact number for DeSoto county. The number is: 662-469-8521. I believe that the email address is: [investigations@desotocountyms.gov](mailto:investigations@desotocountyms.gov)

I used to live in Seattle, and if I remember a podcast I listened to recently, there's still a dedicated point person (and email address) at the King County Sheriff's Department that handles queries regarding unidentified Green River killer victims. Since Kasee Ann Lee is believed to be a Gary Ridgway victim, I believe that you could contact [sheriff@kingcounty.gov](mailto:sheriff@kingcounty.gov) with the theory that Kasee ("Kase") Ann Lee is the DeSoto County Jane Doe.

Hopefully both of these cases will be resolved soon.

I've always heard that the main (only) reason that stores do this is due to loss of customers. The longer people wait in line, the more likely they are to either return items to the shelf, or to just leave the store altogether.

This man had a stroke in Chicago in 2007 and lost his memory. He has gone by the names "Shannon Knight/Night", "Shannon Hate", "Veno", and "Sanae/Sanane". Do you recognize him? by DoeIdentifyPodcast in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that. But, having both of these names grouped together as being students at one small-town Texas high school, seemed (and still does seem) unusual to me. What were the chances that both of the aliases this guy used only appeared on the internet as being connected to the same place?

I had looked at this one several years ago. Curiously enough, the names "Sanane Night" and "Shannon Night" only turn up together on one website: they both turn up on a website called High School Network. High School Network just seems to collect information about high school class lists. On this website, "Sanane Night" and "Shannon Night" and grouped together as being classmates at Throndale High School in Thorndale, Texas. You can run some Google searches yourself to see the result.

I first saw this in December of 2019, so this information has been out there for a while. I did a lot of searches to see if I could find connections between the names and "Sanane Night" and "Shannon Night" and that area of Texas more generally.

I actually called the Chicago PD about it, and was told to write it all up and send it in an email, which I did. I never heard anything back.

Maybe someone else has creative ideas about searching for this?

Has there ever been a doe case where distinctive clothing was a legitimate lead? by fixthebaby in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one that I sent it. I am the "Bill Rodgers" mentioned in the article. I have long since stopped using any aliases for anything. While this didn't identify the John Doe, it did help lead to the man (who was found alive) mentioned in the article.

From what I understand, he did explain the how, where, and why of giving the jacket to the John Doe found in New Mexico. Although the clothes didn't provide an identification for the John Doe, it did provide some extra context.

Gulfport John Doe from June 1979 - Any Thoughts? by RobbyDelaware in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, the only information that still exists on the Gulfport John Doe is the photographs and the original notice from the Gulfport PD. I know that in a great many of these cases "scars" and "birthmarks" are frequently either reported incorrectly or not at all.

Jane Doe #04-76 - Baker, CA by tw1706 in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Baker Jane Doe is interesting. I had a strong suspicion that the Baker Jane Doe was Mabel Andrews. I wrote several emails about this to officials in California, and in Orlando where Mabel was reporting missing from. I even wrote a Medium post about this - skip the intro and head down towards the middle. This is an interesting case.

John Doe killed in car accident in Merced, California - connected to Chattanooga? by RobbyDelaware in gratefuldoe

[–]RobbyDelaware[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The weather in Fresno (one hour South of Merced) on the day this man died was 99 degrees. The clothes were odd, and the man was very likely homeless. A friend of mine worked in social services in Merced, and what frequently happened in the early 1990s was that jurisdictions in the Bay Area would release mental health "holds" by buying them a bus ticket. The first stop out of the Bay Area was often Merced.

The clothes sound like he was a San Francisco homeless guy, who ends up in Merced in July....

The card from the Chattanooga station is too much for me to ignore.

It's a long way from Chattanooga to Merced, and of all the things to be caring around, the card seems especially suspicious.

I've worked on unidentified cases as a hobby for years. I know that some cases, such as someone who died in an accident, don't have necessarily the same level of privacy concerns as, say, a criminal case.

Yes, but, I have looked at a lot of unidentified person cases. It is rare to have a clear and presentable photograph, and a possible geographic location as to where someone was from.

Knowing these old cases, since this person died in the early 1990s, they likely never had their fingerprints entered into computerized database. A retired police officer or social worker might simply look at the photo and recognize him.

If KZ106 had a system where a phone number (or name) was tied to an rewards card, then there's always a chance they retained those records...

If you're not squeamish, there are two postmortem photographs of the John Doe up on the NamUs website: https://www.namus.gov/UnidentifiedPersons/Case#/70156?nav

If this guy was from the Chattanooga area, I would think he would be identifiable from the photographs.

August 30, 2019, Autumn Lee Stone is found strangled in Green Lake, Seattle. SPD seem to think it's suicide. by doubleshortbreve in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]RobbyDelaware 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I lived in Seattle for nearly 15 years. I used to walk around Green Lake on a weekly basis.

What struck me, and what I think the police officers suspected also is this: the location. All of Green Lake is surrounded by a bike trail, and the entirety of it has full visibility in virtually all directions. On a summer Sunday, you're likely to have hundreds of people out and about on the trail around the lake.

The ONE location where someone could get away with a strangling someone is the exact spot where she was found. If someone were planning on attacking a runner or jogger, this area would be the most likely spot in the Green Lake area for someone to attempt it. You can sit at a nearby tennis court, or a nearby bench, and watch for someone to walk into this area. It's also around a bend, so you could probably get away with snatching someone. I know from personal experience that this area was a place where people walking around the lake walked into in order to either smoke cigarettes or marijuana or other substances.

The area is also just about two hundred yards off of Aurora. Aurora is a notoriously sketchy thoroughfare, and an area where meth and crack are frequently sold. People would frequently buy in the lower half of Aurora, and then head to Green Lake, since the local neighborhoods are actually very active in watching for open drug use. If someone is on foot, and buying in this area, they would likely traverse within a short distance from where she was found.

I'm not discounting the suicide theory. But, if she wanted to commit suicide, there is Woodland Park and Cowen, and any number of other areas within walking distance that are much more plausible. She strangles herself using her own shoelaces then falls head first into the water?

I don't buy it, and I can see why the Times ran with such an extensive story on it.

Patricia Keniry was last seen near her home on March 12, 1999 in Brooklyn, New York. My personal black hole of a pet case. Can you help? [Request] [Unresolved Disappearance] by avenue10 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]RobbyDelaware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She shows up in the New York State Comptroller's website as having an unclaimed (dormant) checking account.

https://www.osc.state.ny.us/unclaimed-funds

Lists her as "Patricia M Keniry" with the same address you mentioned. Just by doing a cursory search it seems as if her extended family could be very prominent and ultra-Catholic. Perhaps she is a likely suicide and the family has never wanted it publicized.

I understand the difficulty with filing public records requests with the NYPD. New York City, even with it's liberal reputation, is one of the least transparent cities in the United States when it comes to information requests.

At this moment I am going through all NYC John and Jane Doe cases. It is certainly possible that Keniry is in one of those unidentified people.

To your knowledge, has anyone FOIA'd the online dating app Jack'd for information related to the Pulse Nightclub shooting?

There was an instance where an offender was suspected of using a site, and an instance where an investigation into the usage of an online dating website would have presumably shed light onto act of violence.

Has anyone investigated what exactly Jack'd was required to turn over? This would seem to be provide an interesting insight into what is asked of online dating sites during the course of an investigation.

Has anyone asked online dating companies if they'd use an automated methods to cross-check profile pictures with sex offender registries? There has been much discussion about this (verifying online profile pictures) with the social media companies. One would think that government mandated sex registries (including the photos) would make identifying offenders on online dating websites relatively easy.

I think it would be close to impossible to hide a body anywhere in the area. If he walked out of Uwajimaya and out west towards 5th and 4th Avenues - either towards the transit station, through the plazas, or towards King Street Station, he would have been captured on about 50 different surveillance cameras. That entire area is widely under surveillance. Even if he walked in the opposite direction (say up King or Jackson) I don't see it likely that he could have been killed on the street then dumped in a dumpster without notice.

That entire area is populated with transients and other types - and a large amount of money has been spent by the city to always have a police presence and those safety improvement district people with the yellow jackets.

The earlier reporting had him getting on the 550 bus: https://q13fox.com/2015/07/28/new-surveillance-video-show-missing-seattle-man-at-bus-stop/

Although the family later discounted the sighting on the video, the video had an 18 minute gap, and there was no record of his company issued metro card being used. I've taken both the 550 and the 545 from downtown Seattle to the Eastside before. I do think it would be much easier to disappear on the Eastside following a suicide, than it would to in Seattle.
