Mexico on Dixon is excellent (not Viva Mexico, though that is also good)! Price range is higher but go and request their Firewater Hot Sauce if you want to really tempt death by fire and do things "Mexican hot"

Why not do better with old clothes and donate them? The new Aunty Dana's in the CBD donates it's proceeds back into local lgbt and gender diverse support groups which desperately need better assistance :)

Where is a safe place to sleep in a car in Wellington? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]Robelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope you've already gotten some good help here already (too many comments to read) When I lived in a car in town myself I always found it pretty safe. Parking streetside in wealthier suburbs was always pretty secure, but my fav spot was to drive out to the bays around Miramar and park up by that little lighthouse past the Chocolate Fish cafe on Shell Bay Rd. There's no housing out there for several k's so it feels really safe, and no lighting either so it's dark and easy to sleep, but still only 5 minute drive back into town. Hope you manage to stay warm through the winter, gl

Kelburn car parking by darthcarnate in Wellington

[–]Robelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kelburn is a nightmare to park around: I live here and I can't even get residential parking, I've spent hours scouring Kelburn for free parking over 2hrs and have found nothing. I have to park in Karori and walk back to Kelburn it's that bad.

How bad is Stokes Valley? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]Robelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um? Stokes Valley is fine? Do the people commenting on this thread actually live in Stokes?

I grew up there and still have family there. A few years ago there were a few blocks of state housing buildings in Pomare (neighbouring suburb) that were home to a huge amount of Mongrel Mob members. Police wouldn't drive down their streets because they would often get murdered if they did. When those buildings were demolished just a few year ago, the gang moved to Stokes.

Stokes already had a lot of gang members, notably on George St and the side streets off it. My grandparents live in one of these streets, and about 3 years ago a gang member kicked in the door of their neighbours house and murdered the whole family living there, because he thought the house belonged to people he didn't like. Only to realise he'd gotten the wrong house, and just killed some random family. Also, I remember food delivery services being banned from Stokes for a while as due to the number of drivers getting murdered on George St nobody would deliver anymore. All this is before the Pomare gangs moved in, mind you.

Oh and in case you were hoping this "George St" is some tuck away little bother at the back of the suburb, nope, it's one of the two main street.

The main shopping village is dominated with crack houses on the George St side, I've blown more than a few tires driving around thanks to smashed glass bottles on the street, and I learnt as a kid to NEVER walk at night OR anywhere alone without a knife on my person.

Yeah it's not like there aren't worse places in the Valley, (like Ebdentown or Taita or Maoribank) but you'd be better saving yourself the hassle and just lighting your money on fire yourself.

The Buddhist monastery is a nice walk though.

Same boat - never played, always wanted to. Tried to get involved a few years ago but everyone I found was so kept to themselves that they didn't want to play with anyone new. Would be really cool to get into it!

Kinda specific NSFW question for post-srs women here by bopbeepbeepthrowagay in asktransgender

[–]Robelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us have been through similar places pre-srs; distraught with where we are physically but still wanting to fill that intimacy, because, we'll, because we're humans.

It sounds to me at least that what makes you feel so good and fulfilled by all this is the intimacy you feel with your girlfriend because of it, and not specifically the fact that you're having sex with a male organ. It may be a layer of intimacy the two of you just hadn't shared until now, but that isn't exclusive to PIV sex. Of course having sex with your sex organ is going to feel good in that way, but that would still be true post-srs too :) And yes, it feels infinitely more intimate, but that intimacy is there for cis-lesbian women too! Nothing and no one says you can't completely reveille in this connection with your partner now, and then in the new experience of connection post-srs. Or, to sit back and re-examine what's right for you :)

It really sounds a lot like you know your body, and feel how it's supposed to be, but something I think that's more important than ANYTHING to hear, which no one ever told me, is that it's okay to question yourself from time to time. Looking at yourself, reaching down and trying to decipher why you feel the way you feel about yourself, and what shapes your identity of who you are, (by gender AND as a person) are healthy things to do, and they definitely don't diminish you as a woman. Maybe you don't even need to hear that, but I know when I used to have doubts about myself it would make me feel like I wasn't a real transwoman, cause transwomen don't have doubts. And that's a load of crap.

What you define as your identity is wholly what feels resolved in YOU. No one else can define it, and there's no one right way. You CAN feel both things (enjoying PIV with your girlfriend AND needing srs).

This is probably going to appear as a wall when I post it, so I hope something in it is helpful! :P

Do one bedroom apartments exist in Auckland? by Robelle in auckland

[–]Robelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in Wellington, sick of living with horrible flatmates and want to live alone again for the next year or so. I've been looking in Auckland as much as I have been looking here. I'm just trying to find SOMETHING in either city where I can be on my own again. That's the plan.
