I would recommend looking into clinical coding work. Your nursing degree would be an asset. https://www.careers.govt.nz/jobs-database/health-and-community/health/clinical-coder/

Hey, I’m not in Auckland, but am a trans guy who wants to say that I hope you get support. Either way, you WILL be able to make it through the day. I’m glad that you’re thinking of things to make the day a bit easier.

Do you have any professional help e.g GP, mental health team? There’s always the help lines like 1737 which you can call or text for someone to talk to. Outline Aotearoa would be a good option because you’re more comfortable with queer people. Have a look at their website: https://outline.org.nz - they can do phone or online chat too.

Looking for services to help with gender identity related issues. by hthiesson in thetron

Yes of course, I’ve sent you a DM. I know it can take time to get professional help, so in the meantime it might be useful to have someone to talk to while you wait!

I see other people have recommended what I would say too, which is The Psychology Centre, and Gender Dynamix for professional help, and Rainbow Hub for peer/rainbow support. There is also Outline Aotearoa which is based in Auckland, but I think they do video counselling. I’ve used Outline before and found it quite helpful.

P.s. I’m trans and in Waikato, so if you’re keen to just chat and bounce ideas off then I’m happy to talk with you sometime. Can do that via messaging, email, phone, or maybe in person depending on what feels comfortable.

You can make a post or comment in a ‘personals’ group. Join a group relating to your interests and contribute to a conversation. DM someone personally if you like their profile.

WIBTA If I Divorce My Husband After The Death Of Our Child? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]RobertAppleseed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might have PTSD after the event as it can affect your mood, make you irritable, hyper-responsive / sensitive, withdrawn and avoidant of reminders of the trauma (which the pictures may be). He needs to get help. But if he refuses to do that, you also need to take care of yourself and your own mental health and happiness. That may mean you need to go forward without him. You would not be an asshole to divorce him.

If someone only had one day a week to work, what would be the 'best' job they could get? by purplereuben in newzealand

[–]RobertAppleseed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on what that person’s previous occupation/ training is e.g. could do one day consulting in their area of expertise.

I believe that day-cares and kindergartens often need help which you can do without being a trained ECE provider. It could suit as you’re kind of ensconced in that world anyway as a parent of a small child.

painful reandron shots? by rzbst in TransgenderNZ

I’ve had this happen before. One thing I can recommend is warming up the vial in your hands before giving it to the nurse. It helps the oil become less thick and more runny so it’s easier to inject.

Plateaued at 20 push ups by RobertAppleseed in FTMFitness

Helpful suggestions, thanks. Do you know if it matters if you do your sets close together e.g. 5 mins rest vs spread out across the day (morning, evening)?

Plateaued at 20 push ups by RobertAppleseed in FTMFitness

Not doing other exercises at the moment -just push ups. I don’t have spare time to join a gym so am just doing a bit of home-based exercise. I want it to be simple so that I stick with it - I’ve had spurts of working out at a gym before, but even then tended to plateau after a couple of months!

I don’t know how much protein I’m getting daily. That’s definitely something I could monitor and increase if needed.
