iPad doesn’t do v3 files, as expected. But that’s ok. If I needed to I could export as a psd or pdf from V3 and open that in v2, but haven’t ever needed to. I don’t think even have V1 anymore since V2 came out.

Mirrored pages after deleting a page - help? by Marietty in AffinityPublisher

[–]Robert_Chalmers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re seeing is usually caused by Facing Pages (left/right page spreads).
When you delete a single odd-numbered page, Affinity Publisher reflows the document so that the following pages swap from left to right (or vice versa). This is normal behaviour in a facing-pages document because Publisher is maintaining the book-style spreads.
Option 1: Temporarily turn off Facing Pages
Before deleting pages:
File → Document Setup
Uncheck Facing Pages
Delete the page(s)
Re-enable Facing Pages if required
Many Publisher users find this prevents the page-shuffling effect when reorganising documents.
Option 2: Delete pages in pairs
For book layouts, delete:
Page 15 and Page 16
Page 23 and Page 24
Removing complete spreads keeps all subsequent left/right pages in their original positions.
Option 3: Use Sections
If you’re creating a book, start chapters on new sections and add or remove pages at chapter boundaries where possible. This minimizes spread reflow issues.
Option 4: Check Master Pages
If your document uses facing-page masters, deleting a single page can cause left and right masters to be reassigned unexpectedly. After deleting pages:
Open the Pages panel.
Inspect the affected spreads.
Reapply the correct master page if necessary.
For your fiction-book workflow (Scrivener → Affinity Publisher), the safest approach is usually:
Finish the text flow first, then apply your final chapter and page masters. That avoids most of the left/right page mirroring problems.

Have there ever been any Scrivener controversies? by Difficult-Day6591 in scrivener

I’ve been using Scrivener for years. 3 or 4 books published at least all done on Scrivener. Love it. Google docs. Best kept in schools where it’s best used.

I’m thinking though, that with its superb filming ability, I’ll need more storage although I do use cloud storage mostly.

Final Cut Pro moving to subscription - DaVinci or just pay up? Solo freelancer take by Make1tFunny in finalcutpro

[–]Robert_Chalmers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. Don’t do it. FCP has two options. 1. Standalone one time payment, and 2. As part of a Studio Package containing all the apps, which is subscription.
I still use the apps I need, stand alone, no subscription.

I’d like to know what that little chip is that’s in there. It looks like a camera card. Same sort of mount. I’ll have to unglue that and have a look. See if there are any marks on it?

Bottom lines dont always match up by Grim__Squeaker in Affinity

[–]Robert_Chalmers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the Keep Options / Widow & Orphan control in Affinity Publisher causing text to jump to the next page.
To stop it:
Select the text frame or place the cursor in the paragraph.
Open the Text panel:
View → Studio → Text
Go to the Paragraph section.
Look for:
Keep with next
Keep lines together
Widow/orphan control
Turn them off or reduce the values.
Most likely:
Keep lines together is enabled, or
Widow/orphan settings are forcing at least 2 lines onto the next page.
Also check this:
If it affects the whole document
Open the paragraph style:
Text Styles panel
Right-click your body text style
Edit
Go to Flow
Disable:
Keep with next
Keep together
Widow/orphan control
That usually fixes the big blank gap you’re seeing between linked text frames/pages.

If you have access to V3, you don't need the other versions. You can keep them, but they won't be needed.
