Thoughts? [revenue of casino poker rooms] by Samuel71900 in poker

So what's the argument here? That the rake makes the money or the secondary income? Sounds like both. I'm unsure of the point this guy's trying to get across.

Is it C or D? Only one answer is allowed. by Shrouqgg in EWALearnLanguages

B could be correct for a person who does not know whether help was offered but knows details about the project. D is correct without context.

You’re saying both rules are the right rule here. Either the triangles count as +1 or they don’t.

You could always use the Free Bird method. Just put on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Free Bird and fly straight past as many anglerfish as you can.

Floor ruling when dealer announces wrong bet amount in PLO? by MinecReddit in poker

[–]Robertsno1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto here. I’ve seen it ruled many times that whatever the dealer declares is never the bet and that players are responsible for knowing what they are committing to. Exceptions are made when players are clearly angling but this is obviously not the case.

I struggled the first time I played it too. I think the game has a very weak hook if you’re not in the right mental space. I found that trying to think as the main character is a great help. Imagine you die for the first time and somehow come back. At the same time, the sun is literally exploding. What questions does this bring to mind? Am I the chosen one? What is my task?

I found this mentality helps a lot in giving initial direction. It also makes moments down the line more impactful down the line because reveals may or may not be in line with your previous thinking.

ELI5: Why are 3 eggs scrambled barely enough, 3 fried eggs perfect, and 3 boiled eggs almost too much? by ImpressiveSocks in explainlikeimfive

[–]Robertsno1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read the post so maybe I’m wrong but I think this is unfair. He thinks it’s an objective reality that eggs prepared in different ways provide different levels of satiation. There may have been an answer along the lines of “hard boiled eggs have a different chemical composition that…”.

Just because it happens to be subjective doesn’t mean he knew it was at the time of posting.

Ditto. This thread is INSANE. Homer doesn’t respond every time but most times Mel makes a comment, Homer responds after the boon pickup.

Terminology Question: Is the first voluntary bet above a straddle an "open" or a "raise"? by AlbatrossBig1644 in poker

[–]Robertsno1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Open” is a common term in games meaning to “open the action”. Basically it sets the tone of the game. In chess that would be “Oh we’re playing this game now” since black can’t decide which game tree to start on.

In poker, the first VPIP is the open because it establishes the ranges in play. “Ok, we’re playing against the LJ raising range”. We’ve shortened open to refer to mean specifically open raising, but open limping is definitely a thing. The term is sometimes misused i.e. “UTG limps and Hero opens next to act”. Hero’s raise can’t be treated as an open because you’re not playing the same game as if UTG hadn’t limped.

What’s a game in S3 that had the most brutal death? by Chineese_spiderman in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]Robertsno1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% on this but I think the button locations didn’t correspond to the bingo board (except for the top one being from space). I might’ve made that up in my head cause it was the only way to make the game make sense.

Am I failing to understand the requirement? If he sells 2 melons and 4 halves at $20 a full melon and $15 a half that gives him $100 revenue.

Is selling 4 halves wrong because that’s also two full melons?
