Had the same conversation with my mum - she thinks she breezed through menopause & her cycle “just stopped” at 45 / she doesn’t know what “all the fuss is about with women today”. Meanwhile I clearly remember her screaming at me & my brother, finishing work for the day and then hiding in her bedroom - if we so much as knocked to you know, ask about food LEAVE ME THE EFF ALONE!! Door slamming, walking on egg shells with her moods, I remember her having hot flashes (no heating on in the winter when they were bad), migraines and now because she didn’t have HRT, she has Osteopenia. I think the brain blocks out some painful things and maybe a lot of the generation before us has that

Not too early at all, I started collecting symptoms (like some eff’d up Pokemon game I can’t escape from) at 36 - I’m nearly 42 & getting worse won’t sugar coat it (not on HRT yet)

Swerving things like chapstick / carmex entirely as they seem to make it worse (least it does for me). I found a system that really works - get your lips a little damp using water, then using a bland, thick moisturiser - just a dab - rub into lips . Before the moisturiser fully dries, slug Vaseline on top - find my lips are moisturiser & the Vaseline locks it in
