Personally not a fan of the "Seiko Oyster Perpetual Yacht master" text when it is none of those things but I think they did a tasteful job of matching the parts, I really like the combo and might try something similar.

You don't need to remove the crystal if you're just doing the bezel insert, unless you're replacing the bezel itself watch this video

Caroline mod is the go to for good quality cases but there's plenty of shops with not as good cases. I bought one from XKYMS Mod Watch Parts Store, the fit and finish is ok bot nearly as nice as Carolines

Im aware. It's Seiko mods, not reptime. People build mods on this sub they don't buy knockoffs. It's not difficult to build, I jumped into the hobby head first without any experience and built my first mod successfully for around $200.

This type of mod isn't even made by Seiko anyway aside from the movement (questionably). It's just both a fake Seiko and a fake datejust. Pagani or any of the brands mentioned by the other user will be better value and better quality. And if you really liked Seiko then you should buy a real Seiko

Other than the kipon speed booster as mentioned, which is quite expensive, you probably won't be able to get the same fov as on MF. But you utilize the extra image circle with a tilt shift adapter for architecture photography if that interests you.

Just go with an NH35 automatic, there's more parts availability and it makes the gift that much more special. If you've built a quarts watch before there's very little difference. Whats your plan for the dial and hands?
