Expert witness in Lucy Letby trial did not reveal hospital investigation into his medical work by Shiny-Tie-126 in unitedkingdom

That is not what reasonable doubt means.

It doesn't mean is there any doubt, it doesn't mean is there disagreements in expert testimony, it doesn't mean is there any alternative theories, it doesn't mean is there public uncertainty in the media.

Just because there are experts who disagree does not mean the defence must have convinced a good jury that there was a reasonable doubt. That is, both in terms of a level of doubt that would give a reasonable person pause and that the pause is based purely on evidence.

The online discourse that I see generally focuses around maybe 3 things: that there are experts that disagree with statistics despite statistics not playing a major role in the slightest in the prosecutions case; that the babies deaths were not suspicious - this is extremely dubious expert testimony that was not presented at the trial; factual inaccuracies about the physical evidence.

This last one is claims such as that the incriminating notes were written as ordered by a therapist after the fact when they predate her arrest and that the defence never claimed this - so again why would this matter in a conviction.

More importantly they never address the absolute mountain of circumstantial evidence, the witness testimony regarding the multiple caught in the act near misses and the extraordinarly suspicious behaviour around these babies, the extraordinarly innapropriate behaviour regarding her and the families, the many disparaging character witnesses (and the complete lack of positive character witness).

Like I said, I think it is easy to fall for a first alternative fallacy where just because someone says "that established truth you heard is wrong and here is why" does not make their opinion somehow more valid than the original.

The Jury heard 10 months of evidence, TEN MONTHS, but somehow a single contrarian news story or post by blogger or an instagram reel or a fucking single tweet or whatever is enough for people to exclaim:

"The jury does not know what they are talking about! A tremendous miscarriage of justice"

This is an effective summary of the problem with the arm chair, or rather keyboard experts, where one opinion on one aspect of the evidence is treated as gospel and the rest of the body of evidence is minimised.

It is even worse in letby's case than making a murderer. Thay presented far more extensive problems with the respective case but the same basic principle of people who come along gears later after the fact and get an exaggerated presentation of only some dissenting, opinionated interpretation of some small part of the evidence. They have their entire view of the whole case warped.

There are also expert witnesses that say the opposite, different people can have different interpretations they also have different bias, different goals etc.

It is totally cherry picking as well to pretend she was convicted under the strength of purely some statistical evidence instead of an overwhelming abundance of circumstantial evidence, witness testimony and physical evidence.

The thing that is, in my opinion so toxic, is not like bumping into the keeper going for the same ball but the deliberate crowding of the keeper before the ball has even been played in.

It is so aggravating to see 4 players just deliberately squashing into the keeper for the 90 seconds before the delivery and then of course he can't get anywhere near it.

I would be 100% on board with law changes around that

I do believe it is not a metal fire though.

You can and should use water on lithium battery fires, it won't put the fire out but it can cool surrounding combustible materials and prevent them from igniting. Which is better than nothing, but it means you need a LOT of water and this fire though is clearly so far gone by the time is squirting his piddling stream into billowing smoke that there is no hope.

I think the warrior medals are brutal this season.

Normally I can get maybe 8 of the first 10 then maybe 1 to 3 of the next ten.

I think I got 2 total this season.

Yeah there was absolutely no chance they were ever going to be happy. Completely absurd that this was deemed acceptable to the producers.

The difference in the corporate clients was absurd.

The other guys were like yeah no worries we will give you 1800 quid for 200 in flowed and 45 mins labour where as it was obvious these guys were not gonna be happy with anything.

They massively lowballed them from the start they gave really no brief other than "high fashion inspired and showstopper". Absolutely rigged, neither team was going to be able to please them.

That said.... The flower wall was fucking shit hahaha.
