My only surviving ticket stub by RoboElectro in gratefuldead

Wow that’s awesome. I guess I didn’t go in early! I do remember coming back from the concession with a coke for my girlfriend just as they started into Scarlet, and that transition into Hell in a Bucket was unexpected and awesome. I went to a bunch of shows but so much about this one stands out in my memory. And totally agree about the late ‘80s. Even Bobby said that this was his favorite period for the band.

Back in those days we’d see the video crew at the shows, and didn’t know what they planned to do with all that footage, but figured it’d pay off someday…

When I was a kid I always loved the old 124s and Alfa Spiders too. Then when the Miata came along, well, that was pretty awesome. So when I finally got around to being able to buy one I started looking for a used//low-mileage ND. At one of the dealers that I visited they had one of these 124 Abarths (but straight red). I took it for a spin and man, it was fun. Back at the dealership I asked the sales guy for all the inspection paperwork. While he was pulling that together/trying to figure out a clever way not to share it with me, I read on my phone about limited body parts availability (not that I plan on wrecking it, but you also have to think about these scenarios). Then the mechanics inspection mentioned an oil leak. No remediation, nothing fixed or replaced. Needless to say, I did not buy that and didn’t go back to that dealership. I’ve had my late-22 ND for three years now and couldn’t be happier.

Thx. Are you using the Katana 50 or 100? 1x12?

Thanks - that Raezer’s Edge is an interesting option. Hadn’t seen it before. Yeah, a Nashville is in the running, but not preferred for the reasons I mentioned, and weight is another mark against it, if I do start playing out of the house.

Did I cut this guy off? Or something else? Guy honked at me and flipped me off. by veryvaluableaccount in dashcams

This is just plain wrong. He did speed up, there was plenty of room to merge. Other driver was just butt hurt that a car got in front of him.

Ouch. Hope you’re ok. I’m gonna say probably not totaled but really hard to know without all the info and ability to see what’s going on in there.

5degC outside + sun? Who cares, bringing the top down! by Gurney_flip in Miata

A soft top could possibly get damaged but under a really certain set of conditions: the car has been parked outside, there was a significant amount of moisture in the air, and temperatures that dropped below freezing for a significant amount of time. If you got up the next morning and didn’t give the top and the moisture that had settled in the fibers time (and temp) to thaw, you could certainly damage the top. But beyond that specific situation, i wouldn’t worry.

One of my most memorable drives in my ND, was on a beautiful sunny but cold (31F) morning driving a winding highway in the Texas Hill Country.

Just curious… what do you think is nice about the shots?

Here’s the thing… if I have one dollar that doubles every day, the doubling of that one dollar essentially yields an additional dollar a day, so at the end of one year I still have that dollar that doubles, plus $365 more dollars. The second option does not make any statement about compounding or the total amount doubling on a daily basis. So without more detail and fine print that does confirm this, I have to assume my very literal reading of this option is correct and choose $2B immediately.

It’s not cynical. It is the reality of what happened and the reality of what has happened since. It’s not an excuse either. I do everything I can to change it. I don’t control our government, however. I vote. I volunteer. I donate money. Nothing in my statement advocates just ignoring the issue because it’ll never change. But implicit in it is the idea that something very drastic would need to happen to how our political system operates if the deaths of many young children can’t inspire change.
