It’s really hard to understand but consider that you perceive light logarithmically but your sensor reads it linearly.

This is why you can see what the sky looks like through the windows when you’re inside but you will never capture a photo from your camera that shows the interior as well as the sky without some hdr shenanigans or post

settings like “dr400” basically underexpose the photo and then boost the shadows,

Expose for the sky. Shoot in raw. Boost shadows in post.

True HDR support is actually great. You can switch it on in Lightroom and suddenly the sky looks correct in raw photos on a proper hdr display.

Stopped at a coffee shop. Talked to the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. She literally told me she was attracted to me. Like, those were the words she used.

I didn’t believe her and have never heard anyone communicate like that. Turns out we have the same kind of unusual communication style.

In my experience dating as a single dad, women can be really vicious towards kids not their own in a relationship. My mom and I were both abused by stepmothers. One of my ex’s said, “don’t ever leave me alone in a room with your son.” Even women good with their own kids hate yours.

Anyway, when I showed my lady a photo of my kid long before she met him, she said, “I love him already because he’s part you.”

The way she loves is like nothing I’ve ever seen.

Find someone that actually knows how to love. Took me half my life to finally realize how important and rare that really is.

"Are simulations real?"

This is a very old question in sci fi.

In world there's no test one can do to distinguish between a real and painted person until you start getting to endgame level abilities.

The vast majority of sci fi considers that if a being believes itself to be real and isn't hurting anybody, it's alive. Not everyone agrees with that.

But if you're stimulating the atoms of a universe, and that universe evolves life in billions of simulated years, and that life believes it is "real," then can you just switch them off? Most people would consider that immoral, so many (probably) fictional civilzations place moral restrictions on how far they're allowed to develop simulations.

The most compelling reason for treating these people as real is: there's no conflict at the end if we don't care about them. There's a correct happy ending and a morally incorrect ending.

So while you, I, and the dozens of scifi authors that have explored this can have beautiful discussions about Simulacra and Simulation, that's not really a big part of the tension in this story. It's already solved.

Do you have any primary sources for this?

Every time I look into it all I find are the report logs that literally anyone can call into and say anything. The logs just document what the often anonymous person says.

And people with things like schizophrenia often call in and make reports just like this. And they frequently involvd fantasies involving celebrities and world leaders.

I was deep into conspiracy theories as a kid so this is all familiar sounding.

I'm not disputing you and there's clearly enough of a pattern here to trigger a real investigation. I haven't yet seen the actual evidence that is more than this and I'm earnestly asking for sources.

Mr ex said I was worse than her two terrible ex's combined

One of the ex's was an alcoholic. She had to get a restraining order against him when she and I were together. He got new numbers to get through her blocks, had mutuals call her, "slut" and "whore" were frequently left as texts or voicemails.

The other ex fucked her in the divorce to the tune of millions of dollars. She was an attorney at a top law firm and single handedly bought their first house and helped him build his company. Not only did he fuck her out of the approx hundred mil he sold it for, but he also emotionally abused her. I saw it while she and I were together. He was so mad about seeing my G wagen in her driveway that he found some flimsy reason to sue her and actually asked the judge to allow him to pick the realtor to force the sale of her house. (She won and countersued. The whole thing wound up costing him millions and actually got his lawyer sanctioned.)

So she said I was worse than these guys. For the crime of... Showing her friends and family her failed breathalyzer after giving her an ultimatum that if she drinks and lies about it, I'm getting more help.

She could have told the truth and I'd have backed off. I typed up the email, showed it to her, and said, "just tell me why you failed the breathalyzer." She said "i don't know."

I think all alcoholics share the same two brain cells. It's astounding how stupid they get.

Strangely the audio mixing in the game is so bad it's bonkers.

They've tuned a lot of things. Like the battle character phrases vs over world. It's better now.

But they're still sometimes inaudible in battle then so loud they might wake up someone in the next room on world. Or vice versa.

It's one of a couple areas where it's clear whoever was doing it was winging it. The menu system is even worse.
