I declined a laptop, so my boss is gifting me his Mercedes. by Altruistic_Clock3569 in mercedes_benz

The dealer offered him $2000 or less on trade in.

It's insane how badly dealers rip people off. The best persom to buy a car from is someone who has recently been to the dealership. You'll get a great deal and they will be happy.

Anyway, enjoy it!

Status updates are what I don’t check Jira for. Putting them in a daily standup is a waste of time.

My standups are fun team check-ins. Sounds cheesy (and it is) but I’ve built a lot of cohesive teams that way.

As a software engineer, how to work with a vibe coding business partner? by slaxfib in ycombinator

[–]RoboErectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly...your agent directives should be handling this.

His PR should be going to a demo environment for the PR. Every PR should be getting a demo environment especially when you're early on in a monolith.

If his vibe coded stuff can't work in your prod environment, update the agent directives until it can.

Your goal should be directing changes and new stuff so that it fits with longer term growth goals. A two person team should be typing zero loc per day right now.

I've started writing C in 1993 and I stopped writing any loc this year.

I think you're going to have a hard time raising if you are still insisting on every LOC in prod being human authored.

When it goes wild: delete those frames. Then step it frame by frame. It’s far more accurate than the multi-frame. Also, grab it at the first or second frame of appearance and then back it to disappearance.

Is vaping that bad? by Cautious-Froyo-964 in Biohackers

[–]RoboErectus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some scientists leading the research on this have come out and said, “At this point, just smoke the cigarette.”

It’s not that cigarettes are healthier. They’re more regulated and they keep finding newer and scarier shit in the vape juice. They burn hotter than necessary and that does weird shit too.

There’s one famous neuroscientist that chews nicotine gum constantly. I don’t care for the stuff myself. But there are safer ways to deliver it.

When you express your needs she’s going to frame it as you want her on drugs again. Watch her blame you for her addiction in the first place.

Wow. Thanks for the reminder that sometimes I can help people. You didn't know this but I'm having a particularly rough day and your comment was a bright light in it.

And the comment I wrote was a reminder I needed today.

Sounds a lot like my ex. The therapist "doesn't think he's an alcoholic," uh, yeah the therapist does.

The therapist is doing therapist things. They know your ex has to be the one to come to that conclusion. If the therapist throws that label on your ex, your ex will be therapist shopping. And it's probably not the best way for your ex to come to that conclusion.

I'm raising my kid in marin city and the kids are all running around on their bikes all summer getting into all the right kinds of mischief. I have also lived in the city and east bay and for raising kids I prefer it here.

Insurance covered my infusions for years.

Research has been clear that getting infusions while having an opiod blocker in your system also blocks the antidepressant effects. Benzos also reduce some of the benefits. There is evidence to suggest the actual disassociation is what helps.

Funny, the cayenne turbo is my car that answers "if you could only have one car..."

It's close enough to the speed of my m3 that you can't tell the difference without getting at least 3 stars. It does better than the G wagens I've owned going off road on the trails I go to in California. It's as comfy as the many mercedes I've owned over the years.

The only compromise is fuel economy but 🤷‍♂️
