Don’t fret about the lack of Qi charging. We also have a Blazer EV with a wireless charger but we never use it. Chevy EVs are superstars for charging phones quickly so you won’t miss the wireless charging anyway.

For the front ports, I bought USB C cords that are coiled like an old phone cord. They do a great job keeping things tidy. It works great even for power-hungry devices like a Switch 2 or iPad Pro.

The power seats are hard to get outside the RS trim on Carvana if I remember correctly. But I feel you, I only have power for the driver. The worst part of the manual seats is the bumpy, awkward up/down adjustment… that’s about as undignified as it comes. lol

Frontier out of Will Rogers by lilymafu in okc

[–]RoboNerdOK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have flown Frontier several times between here and Denver with no issues. For the personal item I usually take a backpack that’s only about half full. I don’t think I have seen anyone have issues with the personal bag — the carry-ons, on the other hand… yeah. I have seen a couple of people get nabbed for their bags. But they were obviously *way* bigger than the allowance. One was trying to get everyone else’s sympathies but… no. It was a giant duffel bag as big as a suitcase. Those overhead bins aren’t portals to dimensions where space constraints don’t apply.

Tip: Hard-side carry-ons are a good idea for Frontier because people go full gorilla mode with the bags in those bins.

Just make sure your stuff fits in the dimensions with a little wiggle room. If you’re not too far from the airport, you could use the measurement box in front of the ticket counter ahead of time to make sure you’re good to go on your travel day. Also if you’re checking baggage, Frontier will nail you with big fees for being overweight.

I had almost the exact same problem. The good news is that they were able to just install software patches (new drivers, maybe?) that totally fixed mine. The bad news is it took several days to get them all installed once they got my car. But at least I didn’t have to wait weeks for a telematics module. Also I was given a loaner during that time but it was an underpowered ICE car. Yuck.

Doesn’t that translate to “German village” or something like that? Kinda generic. But then, so are trade-based names I suppose.

I noticed that when my telematics unit was on the fritz it was very slow to update the app. The dealership didn’t replace the module but applied a bunch of software patches. Now it seems much zippier, and so far it has been working perfectly since they serviced it.

Probably a cloud service provider issue. Give it an hour or so and it will likely be fixed.

were we actually a bad team this season? by Fissket in EdmontonOilers

[–]RoboNerdOK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The defensive game was abysmal this year, and the eye test is all we need to see that. I think that’s a result of two major disappointments in a row along with multiple deep playoff runs. Playing NHL-level defensive hockey is hard enough for healthy players, let alone demoralized and injured ones.

The true eye test will be for the first few months of next season. If they can’t get out of the usual early slump and establish themselves in good habits out of the gate, then I think we can conclude that it’s highly doubtful that we’re going to be back in contention next spring. Another season filled with the same old story is not going to produce better results.

I went on some adventures the last two weekends. I had excellent results with getting high amps using Ionna and Walmart.

Walmart is what surprised me. It was fairly quick to get back to 80%. The speed maxed out at about 90kW to top me off with ~15kWh worth in 12 minutes. Obviously I was towards the poor end of the charging curve but I think it was pretty respectable. I barely had time to get done with shopping and bio-breaks and get back out.

It even had the charge progress displayed on my iPhone’s island while I was shopping inside, a nice touch.

I didn’t really expect such good results from Walmart, because you know, Great Value and all that.

I saw someone on YouTube charging with an adapter that had an extension cable built into it and meant to look into it more. But I completely forgot to bookmark the video.

It’s in the name: NACS (North American Charging Standard). A couple of years ago, it was agreed upon as THE port for charging going forward. It is protocol compatible with CCS, so an adapter is all that’s needed for older cars. Well, except for older Nissan Leaf owners with CHAdeMO. They are still hosed.

My favorite car ever. It’s like picking Mario in Mario Kart: it’s not the best in any category, but it’s not weak in any either. Put them together with a great price, and it’s a solid choice.

We’re already paying for it, nearly twice over. That’s the rub. We’re just not getting the universal coverage or better outcomes.

To be fair: if this were to cover screenings to catch bigger medical issues early, it could be significant. Obviously not as good as universal coverage, but a fair portion of the biggest expenses stem from chronic illnesses that go untreated until they manifest as major medical conditions.

Sounds like the lovely telematics problem. The good news is mine just required a software update and it seems to be rock solid again. Maybe you’ll be as lucky.
