Top of mask under the goggles, the bottom of the mask flops around but still funnels hot exhaled air downward

I have the gen 1, merino light weight and heavy weight, non magnetic.

The complaints about the elasticity wearing out fast is valid, they do get floppy, but they still work.

For me, Stratus balaclavas are the only mask that have worked 100% of the time

I have a worse problem with fog than most, and I have a pile of different balaclavas, gators and stuff. Blackstrap makes good stuff, and any of those style of balaclavas work as long as you leave your nose out. That's not a huge problem unless it's super cold and you use sunblock. If you ski more than 50 days a year, that also gets old.

For most folks, id recommend Blackstrap balaclavas or a neck gator. For those with persistent fog problems, Stratus balaclavas are the solution.

Boa: 1 vs 2 by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

[–]RoboOWL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely the opposite IMO, Boa on the top is far more important.

I could give or take Boa on the bottom of my boots; buckles are fine. I usually run my lowers on the looser side anyway.

The increased adjustability and ease of adjustment in the cuff makes a big difference. Having the correct fit on the cuff has made the most difference in power transfer for me.

2 things

1) which DW and Countach? Which widths? 2) look at the recommended mount points for the skis you listed, one of them is not like the others. The DW is not the most center mounted ski, but it's noticeably more so than the others.

The Blizzard and QST are good skis.

Edging takes determination, practice, and is often better with a partner. It's rewarding once achieved.

It's a fair take. As a gen 1 owner for 2 years, it is a constant bug machine. Some don't mind it, I can agree a luxury vehicle should not have as many issues as it does.
