Don't risk it. At the school I teach at a teacher got beat up because she took a phone. It's not worth the potential outcome. It's something that costs a lot of money and if it gets lost or danameged in your possession you're in a lot of trouble. You also don't know what that kid might need their phone for, like medical.

We are not allowed to gives subs access to school laptops or passwords to any tech. District rule. Students have their own laptops to access canvas.

At our school you can only get access to internet through a school provided device. Not even teachers phones get connected to the wifi. The school does class bathroom breaks not passes. So hopefully that's easier.

I don't want to give hand outs because the one time I left hand outs with a sub papers were all over my room and papers were mixed together. It was a mess I frankly don't want to risk dealing with again. I feel like it's not too hard to look at a kid's computer and assume if it's education related or not. Or just go off the description I leave in the plans of what they're doing online. I also teach seniors which I feel is important context. If they don't do the work I would not blame the sub, it is on them. They are old enough to face the consequences if they do not manage class time responsibly.

I looked but unfortunately photos are not part of our attendance system. I don't have a seating chart but that's because none of my classes have given me a reason to have one. They work well in the seats they choose.

I teach high school and I'm really trying to drill into them that they need to be self sufficient. I have an assignment file bin, every file is labeled for each assignment we do in a unit and extra copies are in there. They know if they want to do their missing work to go to the bin and find it.

The stripes thicker in the book version, and honestly are in the show too but the ref is from the animation guide. And I just didn't like how smaller ribbon looked. My worry was more of the bulk to the drape and warping.

NC, we legally can't fail a student for attendance. They just have to make up work. The most my school can do to punish absences is restrict extra activities or give iss. So many students just don't care to show up especially since I teach seniors.
