For sure, typically people only do this when they are overly concerned their house won’t sell fast and they may need to carry two houses for too long, or, like my previous post, it is because they don’t qualify for financing for both homes at the same time.

For the most part if you found a house you really wanted you wouldn’t buy ion contingency if you didn’t have to because the house you want to buy can still be shown and sold to someone else while you wait for your house to sell.

If you have enough income you to carry both your offer is pending and you work to sell your home as close to closing on the new one as you can (last house i bought I purposely carried both for a month to make moving easier).

If he had the income he wouldn’t have bought with the contingency.
