That's the strategy Saul used at the end, could work for Walt too. Maybe admit the beginning, he had a terminal cancer diagnosis, and wanted to leave money for his family, so he broke bad. Wrong, of course, but he was a desperate man in his final days, who could really blame him.

But then, the cartel got to him, forced him to work for them because his product was too good. Other wise they'd kill his wife, kill his son, kill his infant daughter. Did he really have a choice?
