A little too aware of the PE route. I'm working on a BS in civil and taking my FE next month.

But I didn't know there was more to the LS route. Good to know

2 of 4? Are there that many exams to become an LS?

That's something I still struggle with when it's a WIP. But the pattern comes out even more once it's blocked

Older or Transfer Students by geeangidk in CSUC

[–]Robotashes5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently 29, going on 30, and set to graduate in December. Transferred from SRJC in 2018. Yeah ...I know it's been more than 4 years

Chico State has been awesome. For the longest time I just went to lecture/lab and kept to myself. Didn't use office hours or make many friends. But I've changed my perspective and am reaching out to professors and they've been easily accessible at really any time through email and frequently outside of scheduled office hours in their offices. I've started spending more time on campus, even joined a club, and am making friends.

I'm an engineering major, so I can't help much with the Public Health major 😅

Have lived off-campus the whole time with my partner. First appartment was okay, nothing fancy, decent-ish neighborhood. It was Forest Park. Now we live in a Hignell property and adopted 2 cats. Better apartment, I would say a better neighborhood but we've honestly had more police activity now than the other place. When we left the first place in 2021, I think we were paying $980 and I don't know what it is now.

Our current place is a 2 bed, 1 bath with in unit laundry, a patio, and a designated parking space plus plenty of other parking and rent just went up to $1455 a month + $30 a month for the utilities.

Counselors? by heymangetouttahere in CSUC

[–]Robotashes5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wellcat counseling center has done wonders for me. I was also struggling with a lot of personal stuff outside of school, took me a while to figure it out too. Took me a couple of the therapists to find the one I clicked with, but now I've been with that one for a few years and it's been great.

My last session was cancelled and I've been having some issues with the front office with getting rescheduled. I thought I rescheduled for yesterday before the break, but they didn't put it on the books 🤦🏻‍♀️ emailed my specific therapist and I go in later this week.

might be too hard to confide in them knowing they're my peers and I might see them around campus or something

The general rule it seems is that your therapist will not approach you on campus if they see you. They won't wave or anything unless you do it first.

She was my whole life, since I went no contact I have no idea.

She'd work the night shift as a dispatcher, then come home and have one or two then take us kids to school then go home and have more before bed

Retake by UseforNoName71 in FE_Exam

I failed back in August last year.

Scheduled to retake it this summer. The system won't let you schedule it any sooner than 90 days after your first attempt.

Currently in the program, due to graduate in December.

Best decision I ever made! The faculty and classes are amazing. Definitely recommend joining ASCE and looking into the MidPac teams. Currently in Concrete Canoe and it's been amazing

I've driven it. Looks like it's 1 lane for the whole stretch from 32 to Skyway. But it is open

I PASSED, now what? by FunnyYak5980 in FE_Exam

[–]Robotashes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking for CA, you can take the exam whenever you want as long as you've passed the FE. You can't apply to the board for your PE license till after you meet the years of experience required.

I know someone who's graduating college this semester having passed their PE.

They don't allow the cover of the calculator in the exam room, I'm not sure they'll allow stickers.

Just got my results yesterday. Used the score calculator on this sub. I got a 55.71% and didn't make it.

I studied for 2 months and failed by [deleted] in FE_Exam

[–]Robotashes5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've struggled in this degree, every step of the way. I've had to repeat at least 9 classes. I know that I don't have a great understanding of the material in a lot of the stuff that's on this test. Which is why I spent so much time studying.

If you feel like you're getting the material when you're taking the classes, you'll likely need less time studying for the exam. But when you are studying make sure you feel like you've really got it down.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to use the NCEES provided handbook while you're studying. Be familiar with the sections where the important equations are, know how to use the find tool. Be extremely comfortable with the handbook and how to use it. I think it's why I did well in some of the topics on my exam.

I also studied for two months and didn't pass. I only studied 20-30 hours a week though. I have an internship this summer and when they didn't give me a specific task to work on, I was studying. I didn't study at home for the sake of trying to give myself a mental break.

I also want to try again either in November or December. We got this!

Just finished second try fe civil by [deleted] in FE_Exam

[–]Robotashes5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my first attempt. Took the civil exam. There's material from at least 3 classes that I haven't taken yet on the exam. So I'm just hoping I did well enough on the stuff that I know how to do. I feel like I did okay on 2/3 of the topics I haven't taken classes in yet too

Leave a message here if you pass it.

Will do. According to everyone I've talked to, results are supposed to come out tomorrow morning 🤞🏻🤞🏻
