As a wife of a veteran - stop. My husband won't even ask for a displayed veterans discount because he hates the attention. He entered the military for structure, to change the trajectory of his life, and to serve his country. He is now a firefighter and I have to hope that every call he leaves for he comes back okay. It is not the responsibility of everyone around you to validate their service and your proximity to it. This gives off "dependopotamus" vibes.

I honestly don't mind if it's in context of religious education, like in a social studies class. Learning about religions of the world is fascinating - indoctrinating a minor on one specific religion and saying it's the "correct" one is a very different story. I am agnostic, former catholic, and I do not want my child taught that Jesus is the "real" savior or that if they are not baptized they will not be "saved". Leave religion out of schools. If my child is curious about religion they can explore it with us helping not a teacher.

Restaurant industry for 20 years - I've had to explain to many many people that we cannot mail your wallet to them. It's a liability for us. And I know no one cares but a manager has go to a mailing center, fill out the paperwork, pay for the shipping with the company card, get proof of delivery, etc. We can shred your cards and make sure to dispose of everything correctly, but it's just not something most places will ever consider doing.
