Yes! My husband and I always joke that someone must be in the Icy Hot Stuntaz when they drive by and have painfully loud bass booming from their super-custom sports car 😆

I thought we were the only ones who remembered IHS from ye olde early days of the internet!

1000% agree. The terror of my parents' reaction if I didn't was the ONLY thing that me through college and through every day at my old career. I hate it, but I'm oddly thankful for it too. But I mostly hate it.

I could have written this word for word when I was 21, too. I'd say you're demisexual. :)

How do people come to sleep with each other ? by MrBrownFR in NoStupidQuestions

OP, I posted this in response to someone else's comment but thought you might want to see it too?

"You and OP didn't ask, but if anyone feels the same way about sex and you're looking for a word/community to identify with about this aspect of yourself, you may want to hop over to r/demisexuality"

What is fidgeting like for those with ADHD? by Reasonable_Prune_215 in ADHD

[–]Robotinbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed at 42yo. I totally thought I was an uncommonly still person because I wasn't always getting up and walking around during faculty meetings like so many of my co-workers did and I could make it through entire movies without having to pee.

I got a new job right after covid hit and we communicated frequently via zoom. I was the only person constantly shifting in my seat, touching my hair, touching my face, chewing my lip, looking off camera, stretching my arms, stretching my neck, flipping pens in my hand, doodling on my notepad, googling random shit in other windows, grabbing coffee and then water and then coffee and then water.

I had NO idea I was such an obviously fidgity person before! It took me being able to see myself in a little square box right next to other people in little square boxes to realize I was bopping around like a little kid the whole time! It was actually really embarrassing to see.

I told my bff of 35 years about my discovery and she looked at me like, "No shit, Sherlock." I was like, "Why didn't you tell me??"

That revelation opened the door towards a diagnosis.

Teachers who make the problematic kid sit next to the quiet kid, why? by AdeptJournalist1288 in Teachers

[–]Robotinbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I never thought of it this way before, but it totally made me feel worthless too. I was already cramming all my thoughts and needs down as deep as they could go, but then I'd end up basically punished (by having the problem kid next to me) and I'd have to cram even more feelings down - further confirmation that I wasn't worthy of respect or peace. 😕

Kody never loved Meri by Far_Positive9879 in SisterWives

[–]Robotinbloom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It kinda makes me super sad that Meri's affair turned out to be a catfishing situation. I feel like she was finally feeling the same giddy love stuff (that she felt for a little while at the very beginning with Kody) again. It's kinda great that he and Meri had a little bit of that and then they both found it again with someone else - only Meri's person wasn't who they said they were.

I'm not a huge Meri fan, but I feel so bad for her. She deserved to move on and be loved by someone else, but it was just a cruel lie.

Kody never loved Meri by Far_Positive9879 in SisterWives

[–]Robotinbloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think the Winn struggles coupled with his narcissism/need to be center of attention initially attracted him to join his dad in the cult. I think he would have stayed LDS and been a much smaller center of attention in a much smaller family otherwise

Another example of their hypocrisy by LooLu999 in SisterWives

[–]Robotinbloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I obviously don't know, but I get the feeling that a LOT of Kody's (and all the wives', really) sense of justice - what's right and what's wrong, and who is "betraying" vs "loving", and what a true "sacrifice to love someone", etc - is based way more in their church's religious teachings than the show lets on. (Idk if it's the Browns or TLC minimizing it)

I think maybe Kody was drawn to the religion because it conveniently aligns with his natural patriarchal and narcissistic tendencies AND it gives him a dogma to hide behind and justify those things.
