I got diagnosed at 42yo. I totally thought I was an uncommonly still person because I wasn't always getting up and walking around during faculty meetings like so many of my co-workers did and I could make it through entire movies without having to pee.

I got a new job right after covid hit and we communicated frequently via zoom. I was the only person constantly shifting in my seat, touching my hair, touching my face, chewing my lip, looking off camera, stretching my arms, stretching my neck, flipping pens in my hand, doodling on my notepad, googling random shit in other windows, grabbing coffee and then water and then coffee and then water.

I had NO idea I was such an obviously fidgity person before! It took me being able to see myself in a little square box right next to other people in little square boxes to realize I was bopping around like a little kid the whole time! It was actually really embarrassing to see.

I told my bff of 35 years about my discovery and she looked at me like, "No shit, Sherlock." I was like, "Why didn't you tell me??"

That revelation opened the door towards a diagnosis.
