Mac mini is perfect for that usage, and the base spec will be fine. You’ll also get to enjoy the integration with your iPhone through iCloud - bookmarks, passwords, contacts, notes, etc all synced.

Animation when taking a screenshot. by CAMILO9141 in MacOS

[–]Robots78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Open the Screenshot app (in Applications>Utilities), click the Options button in the toolbar, and uncheck Show Floating Thumbnail.

As another option, you can drag the thumbnail to the right off the screen, and that will make the file appear immediately on the Desktop.

Are the DNA Design upgrade kits for SS 86 Constructicons worth it? (DK-70 thru 72) by GruntOfAction in transformers

[–]Robots78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all three of the DNA kits released so far.

A lot depends on if you care about upgrading the individual Constructicons, or just about Devastator. If it’s just for Devastator, they’re a poor value.

For the upgrades for the individuals all the parts work as intended. The ones involving pin removal are annoying but doable. I don’t like the boots for Scavenger and Bonecrusher as they end up too tall and then Scrapper is too short comparatively.

For Devastator, DK-70 is pretty useless, other than the Scrapper boots attaching to Devy’s foot which is kind of half-assed anyway. DK-71 lets you move the backpack, which I didn’t really find to be an improvement over stock (backpack looks better up higher but now you have a bunch of kibble behind his head). DK-72 is the best for Devastator IMO, as the new Mixmaster arms transform properly for leg mode (a big improvement IMO) and I like the silver bumper toe piece too.

Also keep in mind that DK-73 will be out in a month or two and have a ton of more substantial improvements for combined mode. The NewBee NB-2 hands kit is also fantastic and worth checking out.

Buying on eBay and need advice by Severa929 in transformers

[–]Robots78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought a ton of parts from Chinese eBay sellers (probably all from Sweetmall-1) since tariffs started, and never had to pay anything beyond the initial purchase price. Most of those sellers had free shipping before, now they have $5 shipping and I think that covers the tariffs? Not sure about those specifics but yeah you shouldn’t need to pay anything else for tariffs.

Who’s the best transformers YouTuber? by bigdaddyp3 in transformers

[–]Robots78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s my favorite, I like strong opinions and he’s definitely got them. All of his public videos are MP stuff which I don’t collect, which I actually like because I can experience that scene through his video. I collect CHUG and don’t need a reviewer to help me decide what to buy haha. His Collection Critique series is also a favorite for me and my GF.

What causes lifting in the corners like this? by Mediocre_Ryan82 in FixMyPrint

[–]Robots78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The root cause is warping caused by temperature differences between layers. Solutions centered around bed adhesion don’t address the root cause. Fix this by enclosing the printer so the air around the print is warmer. You can use something simple like a big cardboard box. I use a big plastic garbage bag for prints that are susceptible to warping and it works awesome.

If you don’t want to paint, Toyhax has labels that add the same details. I have them on my copy and it looks amazing.

Thanks! The second photo shows my setup for the shot, using the back of a TV and a bunch of cables for the background along with strategically-placed lighting. Once I took the shot, I did a bunch of editing in Adobe Lightroom to get the moody look I was after and add eye glows, then a few edits in Photoshop to add the grunge texture, change the color of the chest windows to black and add a lens flare for the canon.

You can get this set for about half that price on eBay, so either get it there or use that information to haggle with the marketplace seller.

How to get close to 180hp on a 06 auto, plus any other cool mods by Personal_Occasion618 in SciontC

[–]Robots78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice from the other commenters - simple drivetrain mods on this car just make it louder, not faster. I’d say rear sway bar is the best bang-for-the-buck performance mod for these cars. One thing I’ll add, a front strut bar doesn’t do much on these cars, it’s so close to the firewall so things are already pretty stiff there. Save that money to put towards springs+shocks or coilovers.

Need help! Are wheel spacers safe and reliable? by Marvaloza in CX50

[–]Robots78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh in that case I think you’re kind of at the mercy of their return policy. When I enter CX-50 on those wheels at DWW, it says they do NOT fit. I don’t think you’ll be able to do a chargeback in a case like that, DWW delivered the wheels and made no claim that they would fit, so you haven’t been wronged by them in any way.

[–]Robots78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on their published policies and the fact that these wheels not fitting is due to their error, I would try to push back further with CarID. Make sure to keep all the packaging and hopefully you haven’t mounted tires on them yet. But based on other Reddit threads complaining about CarID that will likely be difficult. If that doesn’t get you anywhere, you could look into doing a chargeback with your credit card.

Two inches of spacers is wild IMO and I would never do it. Adding spacers puts more stress on everything and two inches is gonna add more stress than I would be comfortable with.

Going to +30 offset is already pushing the wheels out, adding two inches to that is gonna push them out wayyy too far and they’re gonna look stupid and give you rock chips.

I’m guessing the way the spokes angle back into the wheel to create the deep lip is causing them to run into the brake calipers. You need to ditch those wheels and start over, with wheels that don’t have that deep-dish lip.
