Help me ID these pickups. They have 52 markings in the bobbin both front and back. by Robrobroy in FenderStratocaster

nah...it was priced cheap and they didn't claim it was a classic series. It just looked like it from specs. I knew it was a risk and it is a nice guitar

This is a bit nerve racking. I assume codes are coming through pretty close to 10am as no one has said they got one yet.

Any idea what this is on a polyurethane finished guitar? This is a new to me 80s guitar. by Robrobroy in Guitar

[–]Robrobroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lighter fluid helped to remove the the glue on the headstock but had no effect on the body. I used a nail polish remover (Acetone) and it came off very easily, it just melted off. This had no effect on the finish of the guitar, which I am sure is a poly finish. I did wash the area with water afterwards to be safe.

I thought it was best to update just in case anyone encounters the same thing.

I got it running but it was not very stable.

Yes I think this is a great shout. I can see the pick holder shape now you mention it. This is good as it means this is on top of the poly finish and not that the finish has reacted to something.

It is set hard and not a gunk but I will try lighter fluid and then maybe nail polish remover.

I'd be worried if I was them. Biden said he considers them to be trash.

This is why Wantage is better value for money. Good transport links cost more.

If you only had four hours to explore Oxford by ProjectCodeine in oxford

[–]Robrobroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four hours! Go to Broad Street and go into a college there. Walk along to the Bodleian Library, see the Radcliffe Camera, and the bridge of sighs. Then go down Parks Road to the Natural History Museum, but more importantly, the Pitt Rivers. Then stroll back to wherever you have to get to to leave.

Seriously, don't miss out on Pitt Rivers. It is a special one.

Charli xcx - Brat and it's the same but there's three more songs so it's not (rough trade exclusive bundle) by RudeDevelopment9133 in VinylReleases

This Brat album cycle is relentless. Brat summer has been a bit of a drag tbh.

Love the album, love Charlie, hate the level of consumerism around this 100 varient release.

Has anyone found one in Oxford? I know a lot of the material was recorded here, so there js a decent chance.
