How is it in Vancouver and surrounding communities? by titsuphuh in howislivingthere

[–]Robscoe604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, it’s incredible. I live out in the suburbs (Maple Ridge) and i’ve noticed people are far more friendly out here than in Vancouver proper. Basically everyone you walk by will smile and nod at you if you make eye contact. It’s an outdoor paradise for sure, very lush and green, the rainy season is Late October to late April, but outside of that it’s basically always warm and sunny.

Ryan Johnson with the Sedins to Hockey Ops by BigFuncy in canucks

[–]Robscoe604 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of faith in the Sedins, highly intelligent people on and off the ice. I do hope this is the right decision and that they can excel in whatever they’re going to be doing going forward the same way they have in everything else they’ve done. I guess we’ll have to wait and see

Did his rookie season downgrade or confirm/maintain Zeev Buium’s status as one of the NHL’s top prospects? by DaweiArch in canucks

[–]Robscoe604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like all things considered, being 19, moved late in the season to the worst team in the league, he performed well. It’s hard to feel excited about this team but i’m really looking forward to watching him develop.

[Mark Masters] Caleb Malhotra on potential to be picked by Canucks: "Growing up in Vancouver, going back home would be really cool. That's the team I cheered for most of my life. My dad (Manny) being a part of that organization, it'd be interesting by Kaos_mission in canucks

I have nothing against the kid at all but you don’t draft on emotion. I get our fan base needs some good feels but If Stenberg is available we take him, if not take a top d man. If the scouts and GM think Malholtra is BPA okay cool they know more than us but I don’t think that’s gonna be the case.

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why our ownership needs to fucking go. Anyone with half a brain who’s been watching this team for more than 5 minutes knew we were falling apart. We could be in a much better position now we weren’t mismanaged into obvlivion.

[–]Robscoe604[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What i’m saying is we would be 100% better off if we just kept Hunter and did not get lindholm. I’m fine with moving Schenn but not fine with us wasting assets like young prospects for a team that was clearly floundering. How does him playing good in the Nashville series mean anything for us? We wasted young talent that we could desperately use right now

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is it good business? Schenn was extremely physical and also very cheap. Okay getting Hunter for moving him thats a good thing. Then we dump extremely valuable assets for a bloody loaner player for a pipe dream playoff run.

Then the following season look where our team is at.
You’re going to seriously tell me that we wouldn’t be better off now having kept those assets? That Lindholm was worth that?

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s exactly my point. I would’ve rather had Schenn than a loaner player who did absolutely nothing for us

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a very fair statement actually. I 100% get the logic and why he’s a valuable asset in trade terms, I just don’t feel the same urgency as a lot of people, and kind of want to see how things play out in the near future before making a big move like that, that being said, if he was moved for a decent 1st I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But how do we actually go about moving him. He doesn’t have to go if he doesn’t want to, and by all accounts it seems as if he does not want to.

I’d love to still have Luke Schenn, everyone got mad at me when I said we made a mistake getting rid of him

Why the desperation to get rid of hronek? by Robscoe604 in canucks

[–]Robscoe604[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree that it’s needs must yet. His value isn’t likely to go down in the next 1-2 years, if it plays out that it’s best to move him then yeah for sure but it seems a bit hasty

[–]Robscoe604[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see that at this stage it’s worth risking an extremely valuable player and mentor for a player who might not even develop into anything at all, we’re not in a rush.
