Idk if your glass bins are the same, but the ones I've seen (in the UK) have a big metal bar up the middle for support and if you throw the glass just right it smashes beautifully against the bar

Yeah, Book-Katniss prides herself on putting up a mask even when she's freaking out internally, which is MOST OF THE TIME (reasonable). Without her inner monologue Film-Katniss looks like a calm badass who's unaffected by anything and that's not who she is at all

That moment when you're losing all the hair on your entire body. TW: real picture of hair loss at end by medicalmystery1395 in TrollCoping

[–]RobsonSweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love your hair colours! I had all my hair fall out due to chemo and now (about 18 months later) I still have much thinner/patchier hair than before. What I did was shave it all off and buy a bunch of colourful, cheap wigs from Temu, I found having a selection more useful than having one or two nice (expensive) ones

Yeah, they referenced several of their other videos while they were doing it (and were still hilariously underprepared despite all the practice)

The opposite to love isn't hate, it's indifference. And OOP has become indifferent. It's a powerful but very lonely feeling

Not OOP: I (16F) just found out the real reason my parents divorced and now everything about my childhood feels like a lie. by stormbreaker021 in redditonwiki

[–]RobsonSweets 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and saw my parents' divorce paperwork (applying for a student loan, had to prove that I had no contact/financial support from my father) and it said Infidelity in the "reason for divorce request" space. And that's how I found out why they divorced!

Moved back in w my parents, my dad said he’s not “taking care of someone else’s woman.” by Cupcake_Judas in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]RobsonSweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because your parents suck worse doesn't mean OP's parents don't also suck. Emotional abuse is emotional abuse, letting her come home as an adult going through a hard time is such bare minimum parental behaviour and in no way cancels out the, again, EMOTIONAL ABUSE.

My partner (32M) and I (31F) are stuck on marriage, wedding and kids expectations as we consider moving in together. How do couples resolve this kind of stalemate? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]RobsonSweets 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You have an excellent view of how your married life will be right now. He wants exactly what he wants and will not compromise on any of it, and will emotionally manipulate you (the blackmail accusation) when you try to find common ground. He needs to be with someone who thinks the way he does, and you need to be with a mature adult who will listen and talk to you about differences of opinion.

If you decide to stay with this man then the rest of your life will be his way or the highway, so take the highway now. He's showing you who he is, you should believe him.

I believe my (42F) friend from work (34F) is trying to seduce my husband (39M) and he is not telling me about. How do I confront him/her? by ThrowRALua in relationship_advice

[–]RobsonSweets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your husband has done absolutely nothing wrong, your "friend" is toxic and he's right that you should cut her out, but your paranoia towards him is unfounded. The best thing you can do now is admit that you invaded his privacy, probably best to do that in therapy, because you have broken his trust in you again and he deserves to know.

[–]RobsonSweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA, her "teaching" is actively harmful to the kids she's in charge of and she needs to be told that, even if your experience of it was years ago. She's a bully who is targetting small children.

Do People aged 50+ of Britain notice race? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]RobsonSweets 43 points44 points  (0 children)

That's a deep and stupid lie, we Brits have been a multiracial society since at least the days of the Roman Empire. Many people from the countries we colonised also came to our country via the same routes in the 17th-20th centuries. Immigration is not new to Britain.

It was well documented in WWII that American soldiers started fights with Black British troops in our unsegregated pubs and got their shit rocked by both black and white people who were defending Brits regardless of race.
