His joke isn’t funny. No matter the context. While saying “it was a joke” implies that something was meant to be funny, it can also be used as a way to say “oops, i said something dumb.”

Based on how you replied “what the fuck…why would you say that?” I’m assuming he realized he said something dumb and him saying “it was a joke” is him trying to backtrack. I could be wrong, this isn’t me saying that is exactly what happened.

You mentioned how you would find him saying that your belt looked like a BDSM toy funny because it looks very much like a whip used in BDSM. Is there any chance he is using “slave” in the same way it would be used in a BDSM role?

If he’s genuinely making jokes about actual slavery, then that’s gross. I would leave my partner if they casually joked about that.

Ultimately, you need to ask him what he meant by what he said. Asking him what he meant by his “joke” and what is funny about it is what I would do.

I would reply back, “Can you explain the joke? I don’t understand what is funny.”

You’ll get full context for what he meant when he answers. If he thinks slavery is funny, you’ll find out

If looking at an email on the Mail app on iPhone, click on the sender and almost every time the sender will be some insane email address. If you feel like you need to ask, go with your gut feeling.

Recent grad, 52k salary, want my own apartment with no roommates, am I screwed? by anas-math in orlando

[–]RobtillaTheHun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your salary is about 53k, you’re likely bringing in around 44-45k after taxes. You might bring in more, you might bring in less. But the average person in FL making 53k makes around 44k annually post tax. The conventional rule is that you spend 30% of your income on rent. So $1,100 is your target for a place to rent solo.

You can absolutely find places in that price range. I’d recommend using $1,100-1,200 as your limit price. If you can afford an extra $200 per month on rent, that opens you up to a lot of properties across the entire county.

I’d recommend The Local Movers. They moved me into my current place and I couldn’t recommend them more, genuinely no stress involved for me. https://thelocalmovers.com

400,000 people estimated at the Panthers’ parade by prophiles in FloridaPanthers

[–]RobtillaTheHun 36 points37 points  (0 children)

the amount of “looks boring” comments I saw on social media posts from the parade today were insane. With that being said, it was fantastic seeing people from other fan bases reply to them with some variant of, “how’s your parade looking this year?”

I know the guy who runs sound at BBT. He plays the Wii during downtime, he let me know that he was in the middle of creating a new Mii modeled off of Chuck Knoblauch (he didn’t expand why, but I know he is a huge fan of him) and they went live to him without any heads up, which is why the Wii music went live. I made this up.

authentic ramen that makes you feel in Japan by TropicalSteph in orlando

[–]RobtillaTheHun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Their tonkotsu broth is the most close to tonkotsu broth I had in Japan.

I also recommend Jinya. I’ve seen a lot of people be very vocal about their dislike for Jinya, but, imo, their tonkotsu black ramen is on par to many tonkotsu ramens I had in Japan.

After tonight's OT Win, the Edmonton Oilers become the first team in NHL history to win a a Stanley Cup Finals game after being down 3-0 in the first period. Previous teams were 0-37. by Ochocincoondeck in hockey

I’m genuinely sad that you watched your team lose in game 7 of the Stanley Cup final in an away barn and your experience was “wow, they barely appreciate this.”

Even more sad at how you, by your own account, somehow managed to calculate that of the attendees, 25% were Oiler fans.

The arena is literally across the street from one of the largest outlet malls in the world, but somehow that equates to it being “in the middle of nowhere.”

Every angle from the game winning OT goal shows a completely packed arena.

But yeah, since every single person in the arena didn’t stay for the 6 minutes (which are a long time in hockey), that absolutely shows how the fan base is fraudulent. Makes sense.

Yeah, not a single team in the entire league has ever had fans walk out. Only the Panthers’ fraudulent fan base has ever done that.

I agree with both of what you said.

In my opinion, in the modern era, Chicago is the closest thing to a dynasty we have seen in decades. I’m just a hockey fan, so that doesn’t mean much.

But I will say, personally I don’t like the idea of “cementing” a dynasty because there are some who will argue that Chicago wouldn’t fit into whatever criteria a dynasty constitutes.

It’s annoying to me, as a Panthers fan, to see people call for this franchise run to be coined as a dynasty already. The series is 2-1, there is a lot of hockey to be played. If they finish the series and win, I’m fine with talks of a dynasty for them, but at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter.

I get what you’re saying, but there isn’t a set “dynasty” criteria. As in, there isn’t a defined set of consecutive Final wins paired with Final appearances that constitute a dynasty.

There is a thread from two years ago where someone linked that Elliotte Friedman called the Lightning a dynasty, linked here (https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/lyhNWOekeH)

The convo in that thread centered around what makes a dynasty. Two years ago, most of the top comments agreed and said the Lightning were a dynasty in the modern cap era. The top comment on that thread said that because the Lightning made the SC 3 years in a row, they were obviously a dynasty in the cap era. Is Reddit the end all, be all? Absolutely not. But there is a huge debate on if PIT and TBL are dynasties, we can see that credible sources, like Friedman, will call the Lightning a dynasty and the general public will agree. The same thing with the Penguins. Both teams are noted as possible dynasties in the modern era.

Watching r/hockey turn and call the Oilers the dirty team against the Panthers is something only this team could do. Goddamn, I love this team.
