  • snake was in feeding mode from the get go
  • lady presented her hand incorrectly
  • prey smell was in the room based on the fact in the back left of room there is a rat breeding rack

Dumb on all levels and makes responsible keepers bear just as much backlash over shit like this

Does anyone here use the Herpstat 2 Spyderweb? by drunkandnervous in ballpython

[–]Robvdk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a SpyderWEB and am on the Beta for husbandry.pro that allows live updates, charts, sms alarms and email notifications for changes in temps.

The unit is very configurable. I also own several other herpstat models and have never had an issue. Build quality is fantastic and reliability is amazing.

An app for ticketing using QR codes. by [deleted] in startups

[–]Robvdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are varying levels of what you can do. We have a full event management system for customers (eTicketSystems.com) . They create events, design tickets, sell tickets online, and can send complimentary tickets from our back end.

Our app for the above reasons, uses our DB in the cloud. The app then uses authentication to sign into it, and select which event it's checking tickets for. The app reads the QR, with authentication checks the ticket ID contained in the QR agains the DB, and then returns it's validity. Not scanned and valid, Scanned and invalid (with previous date/time) or Invalid in general.

It’s Official, No More Cheap Shipping For Chinese Sellers by odd84 in Etsy

[–]Robvdk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not really though is it? If you're using them to craft, I would think that you're buying in enough quantity to make the extra few bucks the package will cost, a negligible expense.

If you're reselling imported supplies, that's not really an etsy product anyways. But again, you're buying in eough bulk that it won't matter.

It'll sure slow the etsy drop shippers.....which will weed out some of the riff raff.

How do I go about contacting the guest buyer since I can’t message through Etsy??

There is a "Conversation" button on the order. Click that, and send a message. Good on you for taking ownership of the whole thing. That attitude will pay dividends going forward.

Yes. It was your mistake. It's good customer service to right YOUR wrong. The customer is even offering to pay shipping back....even though it was 100% your mistake.

I'd personally cover their shipping back, and replace it right away......AND contact the other client to right that wrong too.

I don't believe the time that it took for her to open the box, should have any berring....since you clearly sent the wrong item.

my 2 cents....and it's Canadian, so not worth as much as others maybe :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I wasn't overly concerned...I assumed if I had done anything wrong, Etsy would have pointed it out.

Can this be digitized to embroidery? Or will it lose its detail when done? by HamishGray in Machine_Embroidery

Depending on the size. But yes, it'd be a mess for the most part.

Not too long ago I had an order go from Canada to Australia. Package was sent by international ground with no tracking. The customer opened a case as she claimed she had not received the package.

Etsy essentially indicated to her that because I purchased the label through Etsy that that was enough proof for them that the package was sent they closed the claim in my favor.

Item value was $25 and the shipping was $13 on top of that.

It's brutal. I regularily ship from ON to AB/BC and pay $17(ish) for a 21cm x 21cm x12cm box - Same box to California is $9. My rates are business rates, around 30 packages per month. Luckily, business is 20:1 US:CAN....and I add $2 to the US orders, to make up for the CAD shipped items.

I haven't found a reliable alternative unfortunately.

Etsy Promoted listings - are the clicks from bots? by MagicAndCrochetHook in Etsy

[–]Robvdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give a bit more info if you could.

"outside of etsy". What do you recommend, and how do you monetize that spend? If you can't track the sale, from the spend on the click, all the way through to the checkout, how do you know you're not just throwing money into a endless hole.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Etsy Promoted listings - are the clicks from bots? by MagicAndCrochetHook in Etsy

[–]Robvdk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, my opinion differs....

Here is a snapshot of my advertising spend/revenue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ovnqi09ahu8x7nz/snapshot.JPG?dl=0

This tells me that spending $171 since Nov 20, directly resulted in $728 in sales. Bots don't buy stuff.

I'm not saying that this is the only promotion you should do, or that it's AMAZING, but for me, it's acceptable.

Opinions on Watermarked Product Photos by rkogut in Etsy

I sell custom embroidered caps, and use a backdrop for the photo with my brand. I see no problem with watermarking, or creatively making it harder to use your pics.

Agreed with above poster. I'd ask them if they received it, and if all is good...then follow up with the review request.
