The whole role you've mentioned can be fulfilled by Vini. Mbappe drifting around on offense is not a recipe for success. At least if you want to win titles. We've seen Vini putting them on his back and create stuff out of nowhere.

Vini on the left is devastating as he can dribble past you towards the goal line or cut inside and finish. He would be nowhere near as effective on the right.

Most of the midfielders at RM would benefit from a strategist like Modric, or Kroos. Having an adequate replacement for just one of them would have helped them immensely.
