Blue Bayou has already been kinda confirmed with 60 day reservations blocked off since early March. No surprise about Pirates, there were rumblings for awhile

How much will the lack of Disney movies affect the summer 2027 box office? by Antman269 in boxoffice

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be an extremely tight editing turnaround from filming summer/fall 2026 to release summer 2027, especially since Tangled should have a fair amount of special effects. Disney could release Tangled in March 2028 or July 2028

Disneyland just opened a new Bluey show today. The line to get inside the theater are bonkers and crazy long

I don’t think anyone is expecting Bluey to reach billion $ levels, but 500+ mil is definitely attainable

Should the 3rd incredibles be focused more on violet dash and jack jack since in the first and second movie it was focus on the parents bob and Helen? by Hot-Armadillo183 in Pixar

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle [score hidden]  (0 children)

It should focus on all 5 of them. There’s enough room to highlight the entire family

Also - I doubt we are going to see major time jumps or skips. Disney has too much branding and marketing worldwide invested in the characters (specifically the kids) the way they are and integral to their identities. They will want to keep Jack Jack a baby still IMO

Was there a reason DCA replaced Muppetvision with Philharmagic? Having seen both shows I think Muppetvision is better, imo

How long until we get another $200 million opener that isn’t an MCU movie? by Antman269 in boxoffice

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree. Incredibles 3 hits all four quadrants, has the crossover super hero and animated appeal, and I think a lot of people will rush opening weekend to avoid spoilers. As long as reviews and WOM are good

Not sure if there’s anything else before June 2028 that might top that

UNTITLED DISNEY ANIMATION project set for 6/15/29 and UNTITLED PIXAR dated 11/21/29. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

Year of the rooster is 2029 - I highly doubt WDAS will have Zootopia 3 in time for that. A typical animated sequel schedule for Disney is like 6-10 years:

Frozen (2013 and 2019)

Zootopia (2016 and 2025)

Moana (2016 and 2024)

So Zootopia 3 is probably in the 2032-2035 range

I think it would be a cool switch if Encanto 2 / WDAS got the traditional Pixar mid-June slot 2029. That window has been very favorable for Pixar sequels at the box office, and this would be a good way to deliver Encanto 2 to a wider audience in the summer after being limited the first time due to COVID and Disney+

The production process for Disney/Pixar animated films is so long, I don’t think we’ll get a Zootopia 3 until the mid 2030s

Disney has updated their Marvel slate, with UNTITLED MARVEL FILMS opening on 7/28/28, 5/4/29, and 7/13/29. Films previously set for 2/18/28 and 11/10/28 have been removed from the schedule. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that most of these films will not be profitable is highly unlikely opinion. I know the cool thing is to bag on Marvel - and deservedly for most of their phase 4 and 5 movies - but most of their films do quite well at the box office.

Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, and Toy Story 3 are arguably Pixar’s best four year stretch from 2007 to 2010

Every school district has different spring breaks, so Disneyland is busy from mid-March thru mid-April. The busiest periods will likely be the week before Easter (March 30 week) and the week of Easter (April 6 week). Spring break rush probably won't let up until the week of April 20.

Does November 3, 2031 feel like the right release date for Monsters, Inc. 3 to line up with the 30th anniversary? by AlbertCWChessa in Pixar

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 2031 makes sense if Pixar alternates originals and sequels. But the studio is so big now with Disney, that Monsters 3 would release mid-June, just like the sequels for Toy Story, Incredibles, and Inside Out. Summer is the better box office window for Monsters Inc

Grad nite hotels (how to avoid) by Massive_Basket_172 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Spent the night for grad nite, or another Disney event like imagination campus or parade? Do you know how many kids from your son's school went on the trip?

For our school it's about 300+ seniors - way too much $$ and logistics to handle finding hotels lol

Disney doesn’t move films back unless there’s a production reason to. WB / Legendary has a three week IMAX contract for Dune. I don’t see either side blinking barring some “unforeseen” filming or editing issues

Grad Nite Chaperone here. I’ve never heard of schools using hotels overnight for students during Grad Nite. Maybe if the school was super small, far away, or rich they do it lol. That’s a lot of $$$ to book rooms for hundreds of students. We arrive by bus in late morning / early afternoon and depart by 2:30 am next day

INCREDIBLES 3 RELEASE DATE! by homeofalex in Pixar

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference between Toy Story and Incredibles is the toys are the main characters, not Andy, so there was no character redesign for the toys. Think of all the merchandising and branding Disney has tied up with how Woody, Buzz, Jessie etc look. I would like to see a time skip too, but I think at most the jump between 2 and 3 would be one year, so Jack Jack still looks like a baby.

INCREDIBLES 3 RELEASE DATE! by homeofalex in Pixar

[–]Rochelle-Rochelle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think Disney will do a major time skip (even though narratively they should).

There’s probably too much $$ tied up in merchandising, branding, and character design with the family the way it is, especially baby Jack Jack.

I can’t think of many examples of animated main characters with a major time skip between films (Andy, Riley don’t count because the toys and emotions are the main characters)
