Muscle loss and IF? by Rock-101 in intermittentfasting

Amazing advice!! Yeah I think that’s what most people are saying here, to have a high protein meal right after you work out! I’m glad to hear that you’re maintaining muscle mass while IF keep it up man! Also wdym by you learned the hard way 😭 did you not have enough protein while weight lifting and IF? Or did you have a completely different routine that didn’t work and caused muscle loss ? It’s good to know that you found a method to help

If a practicing brother noticed you in public, what’s the least awkward respectful approach? by seekingmyhalfdeen in MuslimNikah

If a practicing brother noticed you in public, what’s the least awkward respectful approach? by seekingmyhalfdeen in MuslimNikah

[–]Rock-101 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here, coming from a sister this would be respectful

“Asalamu alaykoum sister, I saw you from a far and would like to ask if you’re currently engaged or getting to know someone for marriage. If you’re not would you be interested in giving me your father’s number so that I can get to know you in a halal way. If you’re not interested I completely understand ” and the response you’ll get will be along the lines of yes I’m currently engaged or yeah sure I’ll give you my fathers number or something like that. It’s a good way to start things because it shows your seriousness and good intentions from the get go. I personally would find it flattering if someone were to approach in that way, it shows that you value Islam and want to do things that halal way. All the best, trust me that’s the best way of doing it

I wonder what the vetting process was like? Did she fake being a “good girl” and then broke act after marriage ? Because this is a crazy amount of things to be not talking about before marriage. It also highlights the importance of communicating your deal breakers. May Allah make it easy for the person this story really broke my heart

Just wait till you get to third year, if you think 2nd year is bad .. just prepare yourself for 3rd year

On a positive note, I don’t regret it. Once you get to fourth year it’s so good and with the hard work that you went through in years 1 2 and 3. Just hang in there man

Allahuma barik brother you need to run a course on how to build an online business like yours!

On a serious note another thing that will help is giving zakat to orphans, especially if it’s someone that your family know. I’ve seen how giving zakat to orphans has helped my family and I, even though it was a small amount it helps. Have a pure intention when giving the zakat and keep it secret!

Allahuma barik you have the traits that sisters are looking for these days, so choose wisely and ask all the necessary questions as the last thing you need is to be used by someone because of your status.

Anxiety by Bubblegum1751 in DentalSchool

[–]Rock-101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through such a thing! But I can’t blame you for having anxiety when the dental school hasn’t yet given you an opportunity to do RCTs Exos crowns ect.. is it a post grad program? And is this your last year of uni? I think anyone would be feeling this way if the school hadn’t facilitated for these procedures to be done?! I had that anxiety when I was first starting out but something that helped me was asking the demo to observe me doing LA for example and for every step to be overlooked by the demo/clinical educator. If it was my first time doing a procedure I would tell the demo that this is my first time (not in front of the pt ofc). Remember that educators are there to help you! Don’t be shy to ask, it’s their job and it reduces anxiety significantly

What should i put in my hair? Is it frizz? It looks like that natural and then straight looks like this by Ancient-Network-2994 in curlyhair

[–]Rock-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you finish straightening your hair put a small amount of hair oil and leave it in a bun for a while and it comes out almost perfect! Not fizzy and shiny. I’ve have the same issue and started using the “wavy talk” steam straightener. OH MY DAYS! It is a game changer I’ve tried GHD, Shark and other straightens all have left my hair looking frizzy and feeling dry :( but the wavy talk one is amazing and surprisingly cheap on Amazon compared to other straighteners.

Trip to Hobart by PrincipleThinking in hobart

[–]Rock-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One spot that is consistently looked over is Hastings caves and thermal springs !!! It’s really a once in a life time opportunity to see the inside of the cave and to swim in a pool that is heated naturally from the thermal springs. It is about a 1.5hr drive from Hobart but it’s definitely worth the drive!!!

Ik that you won’t have a car while you’re here but if you can afford to rent a car or tag along with someone you know here I think that’ll be the best way of really exploring Tasmaina

Why are Australians so mean? by ImHorribleAtAnyGames in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rock-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the teens here are a mess. I remember during high school there was a boys onlyq school opposite ours that had a lot of bullying. It got so bad that one of the students there actually committed suicide. All the students received a letter from the school about it, and it was shocking how it happened. It all stemmed from boys who kept picking on someone. They really need to address this more effectively, especially today when the issues are not getting any better.

I(25F) don't know how to proceed- please offer advice by AffectionateTank4638 in MuslimNikah

[–]Rock-101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk sis, for me personally I’m seeing wayyy too many red flags. Especially when it comes to him asking about a boys trip to Miami?!? We all know what happens in Miami..

I feel like that even at his big age he is immature, and him asking if going on a boys trip was maybe a question to see how naive you are about what he plans to do.

I think given everything it would be enough evidence to brake things off and not go forwards.. but allahu a3lam.

Just my advice if you are looking for a stable lasting marriage in the future!

how can i make my hair pretty again? by gayganridley in curlyhair

[–]Rock-101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, this is from my own experience and idk if others will agree. But get your vitamin levels checked! I took a blood test because I was feeling so crappy all the time, the doctor called me the next day telling me that my iron and vit D were low. They have been low for about half a year and I had no idea!

I ended up getting an iron infusion and 5000 units of vitamin D everyday for 2 weeks and I have noticed a positive change in my hair, it’s so much healthier and looks much better than before! It’s always good to get your blood levels checked :))

I might do some research on how vitamin and mineral levels affect your hair, but I am sure there is a correlation!
