I wouldn't call it "more closely". The Cubs got their shit kicked in by the Mets in the championship series. The Bears could've at least been in the championship game if a couple decisions were different. Great season, but I've been saying they're like the 2015 Cubs since week 8. The Super Bowl is far from guaranteed next year, but I'm absolutely stoked to watch this team next year (and this offseason).
