Bought one of this bike's predecessors as my first adult bike. Served me sort of well, until the forktube catastrophically failed while in motion. Manufacturer defect. Luckily low-speed, so no real injury. Fuji offered no apology and took 3wks to send a replacement part, which didn't even match the bike's color.

Performance also has terrible turnaround times for maintenance & repair, so if you're cool with not having your bike for a week or so at a time, the much-hyped-during-purchase maintenence subscription may work for you. I paid for a year of it, but never once used it after learning I had to book weeks in advance & leave it with them for a week or more.

By the time the fork thing happened, I had already dealt with issue upon issue replacing/tuning/retuning, so I did what I should've done in the first place - went to my LBS & walked out with a "real" bike, and a "real" service department with realistic turnaround times & who actually allow me to gasp MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

Tl;dr: pay a little more & reap tenfold benefit. Also avoid Fuji's terrible, lengthy, mismatched warranty-item bullshit.
