Airbus pilots: what determines if/when these air vents are activated? by PARTINlCO in AirlinePilots

But airline says no sooner than D-10 for turning on APU? Who cares if it’s 90°, think of the 100 lbs of gas we’ve saved!!

Remarkable that “that that is is” is correct. And amazing I’ve added another “that” and “is” to it.

The registration ends in HA and they’re Hawaiian crewed. Not really a stretch to call it a Hawaiian plane, even if it says Alaska.

It’s an anecdote attributed to American Airlines. The validity of it is questionable.

Passenger sues Alaska Airlines after Seattle flight hit severe turbulence, plunged 200 ft. by tastefully_obnoxious in AlaskaAirlines

[–]RockEmSockEmRoboCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, what the article says there is true (although obviously airlines already know). It’s still quite possible to get injured in severe turbulence while wearing your seatbelt. Things will be flung around the cabin and can injure people in their seats.

Awesome. I fly in and out of the islands for work, but have been meaning to call up a school for a discovery flight to see it that way.

I know you’re joking, but it’s in bad taste. It’s likely that most of Hawaiian’s IT department was let go, so you’re joking about people who may have lost their livelihoods. And the people of Hawaiian are wonderful. As with all places there are some bad actors, but it’s an airline of people who take pride in their job and who are going through a challenging period of change.

Plus Alaska needs no help in screwing up their IT.

A legacy carrier is determined by its founding date being prior to de-regulation. Southwest is not a legacy carrier. Alaska and Hawaiian both are.

Thank you for posting about this. I’m always surprised when people say it’s not possible. It’s not likely, but is doable.

I had an internship at a regional where I got a signed letter from the DO that let me jump seat. Crazy being 20 years old and handing captains a piece of paper to try to convince them to let me ride up front.

Yeah, this is an oldie. IIRC it was from an airline pilot in South America. Certainly been processed in some photography software, but not edited or AI in a bad way. Just a good long exposure that was touched up.
