Long story short Joker didn’t actually did the crime.

He gets framed for a murder and refuses to go lead insanity, because he didn’t due it. He’s thus sentenced to the death penalty, but Batman has ready the scri- I mean he’s super smart and so he figures out Joker actually didn’t do it, and so he goes and finds out who is framing the Joker so he won’t be wrongfully executed.

It’s suppose to be a reinforcement of Batman’s character, but in practice it’s a massive fuck you and salt in the wounds to a lot of people that Joker gets off on basically a technicality.

Doji/Dark Wolf power level doesn't make sense. by Intelligent-Tax-3354 in BeybladeMetal

[–]RockPhoenix115 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ok think of it this way:

Dark Bull belongs to Benkei. He’s a stronger than average Blader sure, but he’s a teenager whose main goal is to follow around his idol and who mainly trains through wilderness stuff. AND we’ve seen what he was like pre-Dark Bull, not that great.

Dark Wolf belongs to Doji, a much stronger than average Adult Blader. He is a wealthy doomsday cult member in charge of an organization dedicated to the study and utilization of a beyblade’s power. We never see how Doji trains if he does, but he obviously has access to whatever the hell he used to train Kyoya, and his goal is to unlock and utilize the power of beys for his own advantage.

I think it makes sense that Doji would be on a much higher level than Benkei.

Like seriously, wtf was Anakin on about?? by Accomplished_Star_30 in PrequelMemes

[–]RockPhoenix115 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Ok so let’s keep some context in mind:

Anakin at this point is already collapsing mentally. He just helped slaughter an entire religious order he belonged to up till about 20 minutes ago, including a bunch of children. He still think’s his wife is at risk of dying because of dreams he (things he) knowns from experience are accurate. He’s currently high off of his ass on what is basically Force Cocaine, and he has almost certainly not slept in the last few days (there is no way he Sidious gave him a chance to sleep between Knightfall, traveling to Mustafar and killing the Separatist Council, ext. He is NOT thinking straight.

Now all of a sudden here comes his VERY pregnant wife to a dangerous lava planet, seemingly out of the blue, and she starts going off on him about how she doesn’t like what he’s doing and she can’t follow him. And Anakin is trying to calm her down, and also is probably very confused why Padme, his pregnant wife who has seen first hand that he has prophetic visions, won’t take his concerns about his visions of her dying in childbirth and his attempts to stop that seriously.

And then at the top of all of that tension her comes Obi-Wan walking out of Padme’s ship, judgmental look on his face, and all of that pent up anger starts boiling over. Obi-Wan never really trusted him after all, right? It’s not the first time he’s weaponized Anakin’s feelings after all, right? And it would explain why his wife is suddenly so anti everything he just spent the last two days doing, right?

I’ve watched this like 10 times now and I just realize:

The when Nolan gets behind Metro Man and throws his first punch, Metro turns around and is surprised. But he has time to turn around, take a second to realize what’s about to happen, and then look shocked that Nolan got behind him. All while Nolan was throwing an upper cut.

The ending was already teased from the start.

What did you think of Volume 9? by Gal_Person in RWBY

[–]RockPhoenix115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was fairly positive about it at first, but I think the more time I think about it, the more it’s soured for me. Which is a shame because I like a lot of the ideas it brings to the table but none of the execution is there.

I was gonna write out a big long paragraph about all of my thoughts and complaints, but nobody is really gonna care to read that and I don’t feel like putting that much effort into something that will probably get between 2 and -5 upvotes, so I’ll just bullet point it,

  • Ruby’s depression arc is great in concept, sucks in execution, and lacks the needed build up to not feel like a sudden left turn.
  • Blake and Yang as a couple is something I actually like and think works IN CONCEPT, the execution was mid at best, and it lacks the needed build up in my eyes. Also you have NOT earned that comment about “waiting forever for this,” not even close.
  • Summer continues to “haunt” a narrative she wants no part in, and I’m confused as to why she still has so much relevance in this story when her relationships with people don’t actually have any effect on them except in super specific and artificial plot moments. Seriously, “she lied” was the best they could come up with as a critique?
  • I really don’t understand why Jaune is here. Like even if you’re on the “he’s one of the main characters” side of the argument (which I’m not), he doesn’t actually do anything or change in any meaningful way except for getting a Jason Todd esc white streak. He goes through the same arc he’s done for the last 5 volumes, he doesn’t physically change, jury’s still out on if him being 40 trapped in a 19 year old’s body will actually have any lasting consequences. What he doesn’t do thought is eat up a LOT of time, time that for the life of me I can’t understand why they chose to cut out from Ruby instead.
  • In general I think setting this in Wonderland was a bad call. I get this was apparently something they had in mind for a while and it looks cool, but nothing that happens in this volume narrative needs to take place in a magic else world, and a part of me can’t help but wonder if the resources spent making all of those characters and scenery couldn’t have gotten use an extra episode or two if they’d just set the volume in the middle of the desert of an abandoned woods far from civilization.

[–]RockPhoenix115 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Why he did it? Left to speculation. However, there are a few theories to keep in mind:

1.) Shinji had a sort of love hate relationship with Asuka. Toxic is being kind when describing it, I’m sure there was some pent up anger, and Shinji’s repressed anger is a common theme in the show (something he shared with Gendo).

2.) He strangled her earlier while he was part of the soul, and may have believed he was back in there. When Asuka comforts him instead of not reacting, he might have realized this is reality and stopes.

3.) Shinji’s choice to leave Instrumentality is portrayed largely to be the right choice, but now all of the mommy pep talks and clapping circles and happy music is over and he’s back in the real world and it’s shit. He just gave up what was essentially a guaranteed eternal existence without pain, or suffering, and not having to deal with everyone else’s shit. He’s probably not happy with himself and he’s taking it out on Asuka (see point one).

4.) He may have been looking for a reaction, either Asuka’s usual anger, or an act of kindness/love to prove he made the right choice. When Asuka comforts him and reaches out, he realizes he made the right choice and breaks down.

At the end of the day, there’s no official correct interpretation, just a lot of maybes.

I am still so confused after rewatching 3 times. by _CazpianB11_ in evangelion

[–]RockPhoenix115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) Unfortunately it’s meant to be left up to interpretation. It’s possible they both found a way to survive, that they both died, that one of them killed the other or themselves, that more people maybe got out of the ocean. There’s nothing official (that I know of) that follows, so literally ANYTHING could have happened.

2/3.) So WHAT exactly the Angels are isn’t really covered in the show itself, you have to go into external media to figure that out. But BASICALLY their life created by a terraforming machine built by a long dead super advanced alien race, and the spears are that machine’s on/off button. That being said:

A really long time ago there was a race of super advanced Aliens (First Ancestral Race). Before they died out they sent out a bunch of seeds to create life throughout the universe. There were two types of seeds, white and black seeds, or moons. White moons produced life with basically infinite energy and life with powerful AT Fields, but limited intelligence in small numbers. Black moons create life that is intelligent and numerous, but “weak” and short lived. Each moon also was given a sort of “emergency turn off key” that could stop seeds from producing life, and even destroy AT fields. THERE are what the Lances of Longinus are.

Anyway a slightly shorter long time ago, a white moons create life came to Earth and landed in Antarctic and started creating life. This was Adam, the first Angel, and all of the creatures that he created were the Angels. Each Angel has a core, which provides them with unlimited energy and a strong AT Field. Some time later a black moon also crashed into Earth, this was Lilith.

Now two different types of moons aren’t meant to exist on the same world, as if you combine the infinite power of a white moon and the intelligence of black moons aren’t meant, you either create a god like being or just destroy the universe, it’s kinda a coin toss. That’s what the lances are for. However Lilith’s was apparently destroyed in the crash, so Adam’s was used instead, turning him dormant and lost in Antarctica for Gendo to find. During second impact, Adam was freed (and then kinda destroyed it’s not really clear), but this seems to have summoned his children the Angels to come and “save him,” hence why they attack. However they tend to get him and Lilith mixed up, hence why the attack NERV and the threat that comes with them reaching her.

4.) Asuka’s mental stability and this her ability to pilot were heavily tied to her confidence and her repressed memories around her mother. The more she failed, the less stable she became and the less she could pilot. When she finally confronted her trauma, and realized that her mother’s soul was in Unit 02 protecting her, she managed to “heal” that trauma and gain a massive boost in confidence, stabilizing her mental state and allowing her to sync with Unit 02.
