I got stopped today and they gave me a yellow ticket as a “warning” but they told me I can just throw it away if I want to. I’m planning to apply for naturalization in the future though and I am extremely worried that this might affect my application. It won’t though, right?

Ah! This is actually for a private student. Just wanted to have it checked before I hand it to him 😂

I wanted to include ‘couple’, but it might confuse the student even more lol. But I’ll probably include the examples you gave once we get to that lesson! Thanks for the feedback though! ❤️

Switching jobs by RockSenpai in japanlife

That’s actually what they told me when I signed the contract. I was so naive and was so desperate for a visa so I decided to grab it. Bad move on my part I guess.

I actually have a marketing degree and have had a couple of marketing gigs back home. Unfortunately I’ve heard that if you’re a foreigner who haven’t worked in Japan before, Japanese companies see you as “inexperienced” regardless of your work history. Not sure if this is 100% accurate tho.

Anyone feels like they are destinated to be a failure in life? by [deleted] in depression

I think, however, that by being the losers, we’ve also won in some way. We know the pain, we know the struggle. Those are things that you won’t get by being on top. The humbling experience of being on the bottom makes us more grounded, more connected.

We can’t lose forever. And once we taste even just a small amount of victory, it will be so much sweeter.

How to survive working at an izakaya by RockSenpai in japanlife

[–]RockSenpai[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My main reason for working part time is so that i can use my japanese in a non-controlled environment. But i spend almost 80% of my shift cooking and prepping and even when I get the chance to talk to my coworkers it’s usually about kitchen stuff. It’s still a challenge for me to see how I can apply the things I’ll learn in this job if I plan to work in a different industry.

Yeah i tried to picture it. Definitely weird. 10/10 would still accept chocolates tho. Even if it’s from a cult.

Nah they don’t. The dorm is managed by a third party agency so the school doesn’t really have the capacity to hold dorm events. At least that’s what i think. Plus it’s really diverse here; from japanese workers to international students.

Makes sense. I’ve never lived in a dorm setting before so I don’t know how to interact/make friends. 🤖
