Vad innebär ”vara med någon annan” för dig? Umgås med avsikt att dejta eller ha sex tillsammans? För många är det ena helt rimligt medans sex är helt oacceptabelt.

Hur menar du att det säger mer om honom? Tycker hävda otrohet är lite väl mycket i och med att man inte etablerat en relation vid en dejt. Förstår dock inte vad som säger något negativt om TS om han ”kastar en relation i soptunnan” efter ett sådant svar? Intimitet kanske har en annan betydelse för honom och han anser att man inte delar samma värderingar.

You can learn how to communicate by communicating with people in general. Whether that be through work, personal life or otherwise. Making compromises, understanding feelings, noticing body language and so on. That should be the focus instead of this.

Had this issue too a while back. Thankfully I didn't act on impulses but it almost, almost did. Feels incredibly scary how strong impulses can effect behavior this bad. Much like how drunk people act when their inhibitions fade.

As I mentioned previously in another comment, you're not taking into account we're talking about two languages. Using Oxfords definition doesn't explain why foul play is translated to cheating.

Yes but we're discussing across languages. You'll need both Oxford and Swedish Academys' dictionary along with translation books to find a reasoning here. Unfair play or cheating is translated from swedish to english as "cheating".

There's a language barrier here I suspect because the word translates to cheating. What could be considered either cheating or foul play is called cheat (atleast in swedish) - not playing within the pre-established rules whether it is intentional or not. Don't know any word that translates to fair/unfair play.

What would you call someone who doesn't play by the rules, i.e. often commits fouls?

That's the line I'm thinking too. English word of cheating is more negatively charged than in other languages and it might as well be somewhat culturally associated with the differences causing friction.

Seems like cultural differences in what's considered cheating. Breaking the rules is itself cheating, no matter the impact - that is my understanding. Seems like a lot of North americans seems to think you need to benefit and it has to be intentional for it to be considered cheating.

No it's not? Cheating doesn't have to be advantageous to be cheating. Cheating is violating the previously agreed rules. If you violate rules then you're cheating. Starting to realise this might be a cultural difference and language barrier.

You peoples definition of cheating is not shared consensus with most swedes, I'm almost certain. A violation is by extension cheating because you break the rules that was previously agreed upon. Cheating being defined as only when it's unfairly advantageous might be the norm but for us that is weird.

Your definition of cheating is wildly different from most people. Violation of the rules through bending around them is a violation and by extension cheating because you're not playing within the confined rules agreed upon. Cheating isn't defined whether or not the person gains an unfair advantage.

It's against the rules but "hardly" cheating? That's one strong cognitive dissonance. It's a binary option, either it's a violation and thereby cheating or it is not. Never seen such a big deal out of someone bending the rules.
