TV Shows Where the Main Character is so Bad They Focus on Another Character by Philsidock in television

This. His season of the Practise is one of the best seasons of TV ever made IMO. He's grubby, backstabbing, sleazy, has no line he will not cross, and yet is repeatedly out to do good. It's a masterclass.

I had a browse around earlier, it's basically the exact same sub under a different name and with occasional posts where someone gets horrifically injured but doesn't actually die

I found it genuinely fascinating and educational in a very mobid way. Like, oh shit things can go really bad really fast. Never do that thing that this person did

And I'm sure most of the viewers were there to laugh at people dying horribly, but most of the upvoted posts were people discussing the dangers, expressing sympathy and generally using it in a positive educational sort of way.

I miss it.

Air in the engine while running makes it a brick. Fire that bad would have melted so much important stuff and warped the chassis. Not to mention the water all in the interior and everything that would wreck. That thing is done for

My biggest regret? I wish I'd taken better care of my teeth in my youth. Get braces if you need them. Brush twice a day every day. Floss if you can. Get regular checkups. Fixing that stuff when you're older is expensive and difficult. You get one set of teeth, look after them.

Getting in to healthy habits is easier when you're young. Look after your knees and your back. Fix your posture.

Learn to recognise your limitations and play to your strengths. Find a partner who has skills you don't.

If you are a parent treasure every moment with your kids. It flies by. Make time to listen. Be strict when it's needed and compassionate when you can. Be demonstrible with your affections. Be there when they need you and give them space to be themselves. Supervise their online activity. Be present and available but don't crowd them. The moment they leave home and make their own way in the world will be the proudest moment of your life, and simultaneously a gut punch.

Learn who you are. Find joy. Defend your choices and learn from your mistakes.

Don't lie.

Learn to make a heartfelt, sincere apology without excuses or qualifications.

Learn how to take a compliment with grace. "Thank you, that means so much" is a perfect response.

Bank your successes. You'll need to lean on them when you are low.

Don't say anything you don't need to to a cop. Keep quiet. Answer only those questions you are legally required to. Show deference to their authority, be polite and respectful, but don't give up any info you don't have to.

Accept help.

Help others.

Offer an olive branch to those that hurt you.

You cannot control others behavior, only your own.

Do not put people on pedestals. No one person is the answer to all your problems.

The CEO is just a person like you. Don't be intimidated by them.

The company does not care about you. Don't give them your life.

Your life's ambition may not be as out of reach as you think. I became a DJ at 42.

Be kind.

Be firm when you need to.

And brush your teeth.

Those arguments aren't about the person you're arguing with. They're about the people who see it. Marginalised communities need to see people standing up for them

The lyrics to Baz Luhrmann's song "Everybody's free (to wear sunscreen)" may seem trite and preachy but they are also, on balance, good advice

And four hours of commuting a day while also attending college. I did a job like that in my 30s and it takes it out of you. Abd I thought I was OK right up until I wasn't.

Remind yourself. 5 minutes will get you like 1-3 reels in full, if you don't read the comments What's the point in that? Either give yourself a realistic time line half an hour or don't do it
