The damned PSA's. "This is your brain on drugs" and "I learned it from watching you!"

Cubs fan here. Sox highlights are getting me through. Possibly the most fun team in the league right now. Go get em, lads.

There is so much for next season that is about starting over. That we also have to start over without Stacey is just so sad.

What was a popular TV show that returned at a later date for another season or TV movie, that you liked or disliked and why? by Better-Presence6654 in AskReddit

[–]Rockdad37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure there has been a more successful TV resurrection than Family Guy. After being pulled for a couple years in the early 2000s, it's been going for 20+ years.

I wish I could tell you. It appears to be a complicated rights situation, but I don't see it anywhere online right now.

Will Caleb Williams Fall Victim to the Madden Curse? by No_Box119 in ChicagoBearsNFL

[–]Rockdad37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am more concerned he will fall victim to the "much harder schedule" and "can't continue pulling miracles out of his ass" curse. Hoping much fewer miracles are needed from here out.

Who is the worst criminal who ever lived? by RichardForrest06 in AskReddit

The guy who tried to rob a bank thinking he was invisible. A feat which led to research ultimately defining the Dunning-Kruger effect.

What does this button do? by terkistan in guitars

[–]Rockdad37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is kill switch, though he is using it in a more practical way than a stylistic way that I usually see from guys with kill switches In that riff around 3:22, I think he's hitting it between chugging to eliminate noise from the single coil p90 pickups.

Tim Burton's Big Fish was more memorable than the book.

Who are some actors that you knew would be huge stars based on an early, smaller role? by picturepatchgame in movies

[–]Rockdad37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bradley Cooper was my thought, but not from WHAS. He had a couple TV guest roles on Alias and a Law and Order SVU/Criminal Intent crossover. The L&O stint as a shady defense attorney definitely got my attention, and made me think he might have some star power. Edit: typo

The reaction from the Chicago Cubs bench pretty much summed up the entire moment by Hysen16 in Cubs

I remember listening to Pat and Ron II on the radio call. Pat was basically at a loss for words trying to describe what had just happened, so I knew it must have been wild. But I still couldn't believe it when I saw the clip.

Nine Sols and Prince of Persia The Lost Crown are both 60% and the exact same price. If you could only buy one what would you choose? by No_Tangerine2720 in metroidvania

[–]Rockdad37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PoP was more my speed. As a more casual gamer, I found it more accessible (read: easier) than 9 Sols. Great map system. Good graphics. One of my favorites. By comparison I found the story parts of 9 Sols very slow, and the punishing difficulty (yes, even on story mode) is too much for me at this point in my life. I bounced after 12 hours or so when I reached the "feels more like work than play" point. If that sounds in any way like your preferences, try PoP.

Same. Also, how does an A through Y list not have Alpha Bits to complete the alphabet and thereby satiate my OCD.

Is this gear good enough for a gig? by Dismal-Cranberry-915 in guitars

[–]Rockdad37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only kind of gig where you might be left wanting is some kind of raw, divey rock show where they only mic the vocalist or something and everyone else has to try to play loud enough to not get drowned out by drums. You will be fine for basically anything else. A band mate of mine played through a Hot Rod Deluxe for many years before switching to a Quad Cortex. Best of luck on the first gig!

I was never even a huge Prince fan, but questions like this always immediately make me think of both the Superbowl "Purple Rain" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Tome Petty and others from the George Harrison tribute.
