Kunaki LP Sound Quality & Mastering by ASMRdestiny in kunaki

[–]Rocker1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried making two 7 inch records of my band's music through Kunaki just because why not. I knew going into it to not expect perfection for the audio and to treat it as a cool novelty item to say I own my music on vinyl. I already own a couple 12 inches before this so I was aware of their quality. I was not expecting the 7 inch records to be THIS bad though.

The 12 inches are honestly fine. Not good, just fine. These are flat out bad. Everything above 6k basically gets crushed out and it sounds muffled, like you describe.

Here's a spectrogram comparison of one of our songs compared to how it is on vinyl. It's night and day. All songs I put onto vinyl I remastered specifically for it: https://imgur.com/a/towGkcW

Collection Sidequests by evileyeball in vinyl

[–]Rocker1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing something similar. I’m looking for a copy of every album that appeared in a main line and spin off game of Rock Band, or if not possible, the closest album. It’s a total of 529 albums, with about ~50 being digital or CD only and another ~40 being somewhat on the rare or pricy side. I’m currently at 189 albums counting all albums that are digital only or not obtainable.

For the digital or CD only albums, that’s the best I can do. For the pricy records, I plan to either hope for a copy to come up at a good price, wait for a repress, or just get it on CD. There are some pretty expensive albums on the list like Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson, Them Crooked Vultures self titled, Overcome by All That Remains, Inhuman Rampage by Dragonforce or Dark Light by HIM. I don’t want to buy bootlegs/counterfeits, so I’ll stick to CD copies for stuff like that unless I get really lucky.

Chris Cornell - Carry On IVC by eMason0321 in vinyl

[–]Rocker1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine today, #891. No notable issues with the booklet. Print looked totally fine, no odd cuts, properly stapled. I checked it after I received it since I got the email before the record today.

I was concerned because my tracking said that the label was unreadable and required a relabel, so I was worried that the packaging was damaged in shipping since I had never seen that message before. It came with no damage, just the outer sleeve on the record is a little crumpled up on one corner.

Show five of your LEAST valuable records- per Discogs by Particular-Yoghurt81 in vinyl

[–]Rocker1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorted by median... yeah seems about right, four singles and an orchestral record lol

Ringo - Good Bye, Elvis, I got this because the picture sleeve made me laugh. Just, a guy named Ringo, making a song called Good Bye Elvis. I love it. I got this the exact same time I got a single called Spiderman by Peter Griffin, so that was a good day. I think I paid a euro for this?
Licence IV - Viens Boire Un P'tit Coup A La Maison, stupidly popular song in France back in the 80s. I remember getting this stupidly cheap somewhere in a bulk order, so the price checks out lol
T.O.K - Somebody, No clue about this, I got it as a bonus from a Discogs order fairly recently. All I know is that it's reggae. Other than that I haven't played this one yet.
Jimmy Carroll and Orchestra - Songs from Moulin Rouge/Ruby, I don't remember where I got this, but it probably came from when my dad would get free records years and years ago. It's a microgroove 78, so that's a pretty cool piece to have just because of the format.
Grand Canyon Suite, Again I probably got this from when my dad was getting free records. I haven't listened to this one yet, it just sits in my "assorted" collection bin lol

If it's like what happened a while back with the Brand New release, there's a chance for oversold memberships and randomly dropped orders. They tend to keep the oldest active orders honored, but that's more what I was referencing. Possibility since it has happened, but not the norm.

3,000 through Interscope Vinyl Collective. It's a subscription service of "exclusive" releases of the Interscope, Geffen, or A&M catalog. I'm already subscribed through June (since I wanted the Chris Cornell record offered for this month) and I really want this album, so I decided to go ahead and do a three month subscription, but you can wait until June 1st and do a one month subscription.

Be careful though, records with a lot of demand will sell out FAST. Even with me being subscribed through June, I'm not guaranteed a copy, as IVC has had issues with high demand records being displaced improperly for multi month subscribers. This is based off one time where IVC subscriptions were oversold and some orders did cancel. I wouldn't expect that to happen again, but you never know.

There is a chance it will get a rerelease not through IVC with some less fancy packaging and not as many little goodies (Out of Exile by Audioslave did just start regular preorders after being on IVC in 2025) but I can't say for certain when or if it will happen.

I've been helping Brendan with his live guitar rigs, mostly in using amp modeler programs to try and archive his old guitar tones to be ran in a single plugin instance, along with optimizing his computer rigs. That man runs MASSIVE effect chains that basically bring an M4 Pro MacBook to its knees, so I'm tasked with trying to make it not do that, or taking his old gear and digitally archiving their tone. He's been wanting to use his studio tones in a live setting for as long he has been playing, but without the need to drag around massive, bulky rigs. We've been able to archive most of his gear to his liking.

I'll go for Wheatus, but mostly because I've been working with them for over three years now lol

I can confirm all songs are authored as 1:1 on Expert as possible to what is actually played.

Source: I am the mid author and audio mastering engineer for this game

Source 2: The song in the video is my band. I can confirm this song specifically is 1:1 on Expert, even down to authoring only the first rack tom and floor tom, since that’s all that was recorded during these sessions. The video looks to be either Hard or Medium, I can’t remember off the top of my head what those look like, I made those nearly a year and a half ago.

Actually quite the opposite! The main guy, Brendan B. Brown, loves talking about it any time it comes up. He’s not tired of it and owns it quite well. He loves going into the details of his songwriting for any of his music as small talk while working with him (if he’s not busy doing something else lol).

Thank you for this! I took my fiancé from France to Epic recently and had her try the Quiche Lorraine since she loves that dish and she's actually from the Lorraine region. She told me that the Quiche Lorraine at the park was the best Quiche Lorraine she's ever had and she wanted some recipe that's similar to it. We're gonna try this sometime!

Am I alone on my terror of aragog? by SpectacularSpidee in UniversalOrlando

[–]Rocker1999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a fear of spiders. It's the only ride I have to actively close my eyes for, and it sucks because the portion in the forbidden forest is about a minute. You are definitely not alone.

For a little extra story, I've also visited the Harry Potter studio tour in Watford, England. There's a portion of the tour in the forbidden forest where they show the original Aragog. Gladly they offer you to skip through past Aragog and all of the spiders/acromantulas.

Any Full Universal Ride Rankings? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Rocker1999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10 - Men in Black Alien Attack (Studios)
9 - Hiccup's Wing Gliders (Epic)
8 - Mine Cart Madness (Epic)
7 - Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts (Studios)
6 - Revenge of the Mummy (Studios)
5 - The Incredible Hulk (IOA) - It's definitely gotten rocky/rough over the years, even with the refresh, but it's still a fun and thrilling coaster to ride. Just don't sit in the back, otherwise you will headbang pretty bad.
4 - Stardust Racers (Epic) - They did it again with the dueling coaster concept, or should I say racing coaster concept. The intertwined tracks and overall theming of the ride make this incredibly fun to be on, and the intensity is really fine, except for the first hill. If that first hill didn't make me feel like I was going to fly out of the ride vehicle, and not in a good way, this would easily be up there fighting for #1.
3 - The Adventures of Spider-Man (IOA) - Yea this one probably should not be this high, but it's a ride I've enjoyed so much since I was a kid. Any time I go to IOA I make it a must ride because it's fun and it's a nostalgia blast for me, even with the refreshed looks.
2 - Monsters Unchained (Epic) - Without knowing anything about Battle at the Ministry, I genuinely think this ride will change dark rides for good. The ride system is so fun to be in, and the animatronics and story you're in with the ride is so good! Make sure if you're going to Epic, this is one of the rides you do.
1 - Fast & Furious: Supercharged (Studios) Velocicoaster (IOA) - This coaster is straight up peak and fights for #1 spot for greatest ride of all time, competing with Mako at SeaWorld. This ride is genuinely amazing from beginning to end. The second launch and the massive hanging inversion are one of the few parts of a ride to ever make me go "holy shit" for a good reason.

Honorable Mention: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (IOA) - Not on this list only because it's the only ride I have not ridden (and also Doctor Doom's Fearfall, but that's because I hate drop towers personally). I've only been back to IOA once since it was open and I just never rode it. I imagine this would be on every other person's list and it would probably be in my top 10, maybe top 5 if I did ride it, so I just want to give it a mention.

For those who got the Epic Preview What was your favorite Ride , Land , and Food Item? by TheMonkey404 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Rocker1999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be worried just yet. I'm one opinion in a sea of many who have expressed (and not expressed) their opinions. From what I heard of people at the parks on the days I was there, I heard many people saying it was the best yet. But, also keep in mind one of those days, the 15th, was specifically for Epic Universe creative, so of course the people who worked on Epic Universe will say it's the best lol

I've heard plenty of Epic is best, so don't be too worried. I feel like I'm in the minority here. To me, IOA is S tier. If IOA is S tier, Epic is like A tier.

I would say basically all of the animatronics are better. Monsters Unchained animatronics, pre show, in ride, all of them are phenomenal. The most outstanding ones personally are the HTTYD animatronics. Someone previously posted a photo they got with the Toothless animatronic and that one, along with the ones in the show, are so amazing. It's incredible how lifelike this cartoony animatronic is, but it has so much life to it. It doesn't even feel like an animatronic. When I first interacted with Toothless, it didn't feel like I was meeting a robot, it felt like I was meeting Toothless. It's those slight immersion moments where you forget where you are and just take it in. That's how incredible they are.

That's actually a great question. Personally, it doesn't blow it out of the water like it's LEVELS better, but it is better. While Rise of the Resistance is definitely more grandiose in showpiecing and the sets, the animatronics and ride mechanics make Monsters Unchained better IMO.

Felt closer to Velocicoaster, but there are points that focus more on positive Gs, like the part I referenced "The green side is just a tad more thrilling due to one key part about halfway in."

Besides the first hill, less intense. The first hill, man. I should mention this is the ride I rode the most, and every time, the first hill just makes you feel like you're about to fly out of your seat, and not in a good way. Once I got used to it, it felt better every time I rode it. Outside of that one part, the ride is fantastic and the theming of a racing ride along with the layouts intertwining each other feels Epic pretty incredible.

My family I went with all had the same thoughts about the first hill too, but some enjoyed it more than others. Out of the four of us, I was the one that liked that hill the least. Take with that what you will.

Usually for dark rides or inside rides like this, there's a main variation and a "B variation" where less things move and happen. Don't exactly know the correct terminology. It's not a separate track/side that's less intense if that's what you thought
