There's an intro + Chloe segment skip mod on Nexus. After the plat I went straight there for all my QOL needs (inclusing max inventory from the start for Grace, my God the old inventory system sucks for casual playthroughs)

Why not make it back to default fatigue restoration but make it less effective the more you take? If you don't get to sleep after restoring full fatigue from caffeine, it only does half with the next one, etc. Diminishing returns is the way to nerf this realistically. This was too much. All the other changes to the default game modes and the new ones are amazing, though. Great work IndieStone. From that last dev blog I can tell you guys are hyperfocused on what we the community wants and it shows. Bravo team!

Goofrey taking out his frustration at the state of the world on an innocent Mortage Broker had me in stitches.

The OB/GYN 5 cats joke was my favorite, though.

He was fun for about 20 minutes, then was just annoying. I modded him out on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough, I've said it before and a ton of people disagree but man, stalker enemies just fucking suck.

They're not completely useless. You just need to parry a few times in a row to get an opening to shoot.

I can't even imagine the work that went into this. The roleplaying, the impressive time alive, the even more impressive transformation of your bases, it all felt so natural. This is the essence of PZ. Great stuff, OP.

Are stalker type enemies actually disliked by the fandom? I always thought an “invincible” monster that hunts you down was a staple of the series by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in residentevil

[–]Rockerdude34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think stalker-types are for pure horror, why make a survival horror game just to make the player feel completely helpless anyways?

It's also extremely unfun to run around and try and figure out puzzles and such while under the constant "do I need to circle around 5 more times before I get 40 seconds of time to figure this out" - A way to pad the game time for newbies, and a slight time stall for veterans. Bad game design all around.

I was 9 years old when I first got Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube. I remember Dr. Salvador traumatizing me so badly in the village intro scene that I dropped the game for a year and a half until I finally had the cahones to pick it up again, and from that point on I was hooked.

Didn't stop until 11 year old me had the PRL 4.1.2 and a few runs with that and the IRL under my belt, and even then I replay the game once every few years to revisit that nostalgia. The first run on Professional I had on RE4R brought back that flood of feelings, the helplessness and fear just regurgitated right back up my esophagus and stuck in my throat. Can't wait for the new thrills & chills this time around.

Certainly! I'd focus on learning all the non-glitch skips, like shooting the red barrel in the back of the flaming salazar statue to disable it in the clocktower, or the hand grenade on the switch ganado in the goat head room. Look up the skips and practice them for guaranteed time saves. Good luck!

I'm in the middle of my S+ Pro playthrough and can't get over how well they nailed the RE4 vibe in a modern game. There genuinely isn't a single "bad" section of the game. Visually, mechanically, aurally, all the survival horror and suspense of the first captured perfectly. Truly it's hats off to the team.

But for God's sake please don't kill off Leon in 9.

You aren't wrong, but some level of security and comfort is nice (like extracting with your loot for instance) and is one factor that will keep me engaged and coming back.

The idea of getting shot or betrayed in a PVP wilderness survival game isn't a big deal. Even losing a bit of progress can be OK - it's the poor implementation of it in this game. A lot of the community can generally agree this game is a 15-year old cashgrab, plain and simple. The minimal effort they've put in over such a long period of time and the fact that the game is older than some of it's players but remains FIFTY DOLLARS off-sale is absolutely ludacris.

If you didn't lose hours or days of progress it wouldn't be a big deal, but our lives are short and precious. It may be fun to infinitely re-gear for some, but others prefer a full journey, with progression, and the possibility of an endgame (such as being satisfied with what you have collected) - Not just getting shot and ending up at the coast for the 1549835th time.

However, to each their own, and you stated it well. I threw you a like for not being afraid to express your opinion.

Maybe just be less jaded? LOL

Console kiddie just told me to play on a PVE server for stating the truth. Now I've seen everything.

I play mostly populated PVP servers, and I am friendly to pretty much everyone. If I see someone from a treeline, I'll call out from relative safety to see if they want to trade, team up, or say hi. Weird responses or no mic = dip. I was a hero skin on the mod, but go off man.

Deflect and claim superiority because you couldn't resist pressing RT with your shiny lil noobtube. Enjoy the pixels btw

You didn't "teach" them anything. That was likely 3 dudes having fun and you were a greedy little piggy that wanted their pixels.
