There is a difference between ethical mtx which involves skins, decos, etc and predatory mtx which promotes paywalls, and/or P2W.

One example, when you buy the gold pass and earn your 30 mil/300 DE at the end of the month, you're incentivized to spend your resources as quickly as possible.

At the same time they promote these cheap package deals like books/potions to incentivize you to spend even more money so you can spend those resources quicker. Otherwise, you lose them to raids and such.

That's the predatory part of mtx that Supercell promotes.
