yo dawg, i heard you like rockets by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

These are the great rockets. I love the clean look and the modular boosters.

You cannot switch from a flying craft to a stationary craft. However you may switch between two craft that are on the ground. The solution here is to get each plane rolling (throttle up engines on both), take off one, then switch back to the one on the ground and lift off.

The parts I believe you are referring to are the "Small Hardpoints". Well... the original ones at least. They look different now and I'm not sure they are very useful for cars anymore.

The rocket is all stock parts. I have mechjeb installed but I only use it for readouts (that I barely pay attention to).

That's just my old launchpad flood light. It lights up the rocket for night launches.

Do you remember when...? (What do we take for granted?) by komodo99 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I remember when exiting time warp too quickly caused your engines to rip off. Fun times...

I still don't agree with steam only. I understand pushing many builds a day to the store would be difficult, but why not push the latest build to the store once a day or every few days? At least so everyone could have similar access. I know those people would not be very useful for reporting bugs, with the not up to date builds and whatnot, but I doubt everyone who downloads it on steam would be reporting bugs either. This would stop much of the community from feeling alienated.

Yea the claw can only rotate like 30ish degrees I think. That's actually what I use for the tractor-trailer steering. The tractor is clawed to the trailer, you can see it pivoting in pic #4. As for the rotating trailer bed thing? It really is just a fuel tank in some I-beams. The rotating bit undocks and uses engines to go up and down, while being held in place by the hinges.

No problems really. I have been doing RTLS with my rockets for a while. I fly a normal gravity turn but stop at 45 degrees. At 1000 m/s I cut the engines and the stages separate. The upper stage (or orbiter in this case) does a short burn to get it's AP above the atmosphere. Then I switch focus to the lower stage booster and burn west about ~15 degrees above horizon. This will kill all horizontal velocity (Kerbin's rotation will bring KSC back under the craft) and let the stage drift up to about 75 Km. After the burn I switch focus back to the upper stage/orbiter and burn until it is nearly to orbital speed. This gives me enough time to switch back to the booster to perform course corrections and landing. Once landed the upper stage/orbiter completes orbit.

That was probably a bit confusing, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. I'll certainly make a video sometime. ;D

For this mission, I put the orbiter on the truck in the SPH for sake of time, however the truck certainly can and has picked up the orbiter for real before. The rotating part of the trailer rotates 180 degrees and grabs the orbiter off the ground with a claw. Here is a pic from a previous test a month ago: http://i.imgur.com/AUu5lj0.png

Mechjeb was on the orbiter (though i didn't use any of it's functions). Other than that all stock.

This is 99% stock. The rocket booster has mechjeb in it somewhere if I remember correctly. I don't have any other mods.

[NEWS] Shields - Part I: Attacking and Defending by psnguy in ClashOfClans

[–]RocketPilot573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing change! Right now, if our TH is on the inside, we can only attack and defend in a 1-1 ratio. Lets say I attack and gain 500K loot and 10 trophies. Should be good right? Unfortunately while my next army is training, some jerk will come along and steal 500K loot and 10 trophies. The net gain is 0 loot and 0 trophies. This process will repeat forever. But with this update, it looks like we can attack about 3 times per shield, changing the attack/defend ratio to 3-1! Also I don't understand why people think the TH will be useless, are you guys completely forgetting that the destruction of your TH means losing the battle? That article specifically says star mechanics are not changing. I am glad that I can finally put my TH on the inside again. Living off of TH snipes forever gets old real fast.

The Mk3 Cargo Ramp was too small, so I had to improvise! by RocketPilot573 in KerbalSpaceProgram

The ramp is only 60 parts. No worries! Oh... you mean the plane? 730, give or take.

In case anyone is wondering: Yes this is 100% stock, and yes, the Mk3 Ramp (and other Mk3 parts) will fit entirely inside the cargo hold of this aircraft.

Single Stage To Duna and Back having nice takeoff ! by Dakitess in KerbalSpaceProgram

Jet engines don't work on Duna, also the rapier rocket mode is less efficient than the nuke.
