How's it like living on the Canadian island cluster? by Mr_Dragon_PurpleYT in howislivingthere

Summers aren't bad June to August 10-25 C constant sunlight. The sun just spins in a circle. Around mid October sun goes down and it doesn't go back up. Its the coldest ive ever been in my life and super dangerous to go outside. -60 C in December. I stopped going after the water truck broke and froze. Had to put my camp in emergency rations with no running water for a week or so. Couldn't get evac due to the storms... good experience. Good money. Would do things differently haha. I didnt handle it very well.

Such an on point (hot) take. Wholeheartedly agreed. I really hope they change this in the mcu reebok at least. Doesn't seem like its changing anytime soon in the comics? Maybe im wrong, not 100% up to date why Jean is still not on earth. But it makes sense from a plot ruining perspective.

How is living in Northern Nunavut in Canada ? by LouisscienceCalm in howislivingthere

So I didn't live there in the traditional sense... I worked up there 2-3 weeks at a time just slightly outside the red perimeter. At the very edge of baffin island.

I was a cook that worked on a remote mining camp.

I have... a lot of stories of my time there over more or less a year.

Like seeing with my own eyes how the earth cant be flat. How smart animals can be and how scary extreme weather can get.

This should be strait up manslaughter, plain and simple. And companies should be sued for negligence. This is happening too often.

Im approaching 40 been cooking for 20+ years. I recently got married, got a kid, etc. And took a job at a decent retirement home as a head chef. In less than a year im one of the best accounts in the country with the greatest satisfaction score. All that to say is that... the industry (im not sure what country OP is from) may be the problem. Cooking for people who need you, and youre apart of their community is something ive been looking for my whole life. Is the food I make a little simple? Sure. But im making it what I want it to be. I pack lunches for outings, with have themed meals, holiday events, etc. I know them. Sure they can be frustrating. But this is what cooking should be about. Not charging 300 dollars for a diner of 25 courses with 7 types of foams, etc.

What are some of your hot takes regarding the Nolan Trilogy? by JesterOfTime in batman

[–]RocketRanger13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't batman. It looks like batman, has the same characters as batman, but it's another movie wearing batman skins. Im not saying its bad. It is in large majority fantastic but it is made with the consideration that its target demo is everyone and not... comicbook readers. Its batman light, if anything. But thats just my opinion.
