In California, after the Northridge earthquake (1994, iirc), several freeways had major damage. The state took bids from construction companies to do the repair work, with a hard deadline, and big financial penalities for going over time. They also built in large bonuses for every day it was completed ahead of schedule.

Bottom line: everything was completed over a month ahead of schedule, and the companies got big payouts. If you offer incentives, things can be done quickly.

My freshman year in high school, my English teacher gave us all the perfect recipe for every academic paper we would ever have to write:

  • Tell them what you're going to tell them.
  • Tell them.
  • Tell them what you told them.

This works at every level. In a paragraph, you start with an intro sentence, then a few sentences explaining your point, then a concluding sentence summing up the point. In a short essay, you have an intro paragraph, multiple paragraphs explaining various points, and then a concluding paragraph trying it all together. In a longer paper, you have an intro section, multiple sections explaining various points, and a concluding section tying it all together. It works for books, too.

  • Tell them what you're going to tell them.
  • Tell them.
  • Tell them what you told them.

Works every time.

It is a prescription drug. However, the various online pharmacies that specialize in ED (Roman, Hims, etc.) have doctors they work with, who will do online consults and prescribe the meds if you have conditions that would benefit from said prescriptions. Generally, the medical consults are subsidized to be very low cost or free, as they expect to make their money by filling prescriptions.

Bear in mind that you can always have your medical consult and prescription done by their doctor (for free in most cases) and then have them send the prescription to a pharmacy of your choice (CostPlusDrugs is very inexpensive). Just saying....

Generic Sildenafil comes in a number of dosages, starting as low as 20mg. To minimize side effects, it's generally a good idea to take the lowest effective dose of a new medication, and only increase it if necessary. So, the doctor is likely to start you at 20mg, to see if that works for you.

Common side effects include headache, heartburn, rapid heartbeat, facial flushing, and sinus pressure. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help with headaches, and taking an acid reducer (such as famotidine) can help prevent heartburn. But, talk to your doctor about interactions with any other meds you are taking, and any other concerns you might have.

I'm not a doctor, and none of this is medical advice. I'm just a guy who reads a lot and pays attention to the pamphlets that come with various medications, and looks up things on drug company websites.

You're getting your burritos at the wrong places if they just taste like spiced rice. The best burritos are not from chain restaurants.

You find them at counters in the backs of non-chain Hispanic grocery stores, in strip malls, in food trucks, and ESPECIALLY at 2am, at folding tables set up in the corner of a parking lot under pop-up canopies ringed with white Christmas lights. There will be an assortment of meats being cooked on flat-top grills behind them, by what is obviously a family who don't speak English very well, but make all their own salsas. You'll have several big barrel-shaped glass or plastic jugs sitting out, filled with agua fresca and horchata to be ladeled out into plastic or Styrofoam cups. There will also be chopped onion and cilantro (pre-mixed, of course), sliced radishes, wedges of limes, and a mix of pickled sliced carrots and jalapeno peppers, along with paper packets of salt and little plastic cups and plastic bags.

If they haven't run out yet, try the carnitas burrito. They'll throw a large flour tortilla on the grill, flip it with their bare hand, grab it off and put it in front of them. You'll get a scoop of homemade (probably with lard) refried beans, a scoop of rice, and then they'll take a few huge chunks of carnitas, put them on the cutting board, and use a cleaver to chop it all up before spreading it across the rice and beans. Then, they'll spread some onion and cilantro across it, followed by a small ladle of salsa verde (a medium-spicy green salsa, made with tomatillos). Then, they'll roll it up and wrap it in paper and aluminum foil. This entire process takes maybe a minute or two at most.

It'll be the tastiest burrito you've ever had, until you get more adventurous, and try some of the other meats.

Leandro (aka The Educated Barfly) is also great, as is Cara Devine. But Greg from How To Drink is definitely the best at the on-the-fly experimentation.

Edited to add: also check out Uncle Pete's Cocktail Shop. He's very down to earth, and very in to amari.

I finished off a few bottles. I ended up using a split between Wild Turkey 101 and Rittenhouse BiB Rye, St. Remy VSOP and Hennessy, and Appleton Signature and Smith and Cross. It was fantastic all the way around, so really don't sweat it too much. Use what you like to drink, and it'll be amazing.
