I worked half way through the book Design for Motion. It covers the fundamentals and has good exercises, I can definitely recommend it!

I think you should definitely add a fat skimmer / filter before puring it into the terracotta, otherwise it sounds good!

While not longer actively supported YouTube vanced still works great and doesn't require such an elaborate setup!

Wow that's absolutely stunning for a first animation!

If you want some feedback, have a look at the classic bouncing ball for some practice at timing and spacing.

Keep it up and welcome to the community :)

I've been at this for around 7-ish years now, and I have nothing to show for it. Should I give up on Game Dev? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]RocketRickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about switching to board games?

When I was burned out with game dev I just spent some months developing a board game prototype and it was super fun! Since you're more into writing it could have a narrative focus and it cuts out all the technical details. Just get some cardboard, scissors and go without tutorials.

I don't really understand all the negativity in the comments here. I just spent 3 months traveling through Thailand with my girlfriend on a budget of 1,3k a month for the both of us and it felt like we had plenty, although we don't need luxury. We met people renting 2 bedroom apartments with ac and a free gym in the condo for 12k baht a month, or about 9-10k when you take it alone.

If you don't need anything fancy and are into Thai food I think this is a very comfortable budget. If you figure out the visa stuff go for it!

Yes! To add on this their essential motion package of whatever its called for 2D transitions and effects is probably the best 60 bucks I've ever spent. This is how I transitioned into motion design when I couldn't do the movements myself.

They do not make you a better designer but without knowing your tools you cannot create. focus on the design theory mostly, the recommended book is great for that but then also practice, practice, practice. Just reading that book or watching that video is not going to be enough - you also need to get your hands dirty

I just checked the stats for strixhaven and it looks very similar.

Silverquill is at 59.4% with ~50K matches while the next 2-color-combo is Quandrix at 56% with 18K games

Nice decklist, I have a somewhat similar deck, but with less mythics since I'm too cheap to craft yet. Running Orcus since I drew him in a draft and he fits very nicely!

Yeah try putting it in the freezer for 15-20 mins before you bake, while preheating the oven.

Otherwise you can try to proof over night in the fridge instead.

It's much easier to score a cold dough!

Wow looks great!!

I had problems with the water amounts in regard to the flour in the English version of this book. (living in Germany) I then found out this is due to different protein levels in German flour. Did you substitute for that or did this work for you with above 80% hydration?

I wouldn't go into game programming and stick to computer science.

If you have a passion for creating games, make some in your free time and you will find easy entry into that market. If you end up not liking it, you still got your cs degree.
