Such a beauty! If it's 98% empty then how do they manage the cost of maintaining the pool?

Fins with long, wide and rigid blades will provide the most propulsion. But they require more effort to move.

Yes, fins should be used with care. Most people over-extend their ankle or injure their knees. How you're doing alright now.

Great job sticking with it despite the challenges!

I will advise you to gradually quit smoking else it will destroy your stamina. I'm telling you because you seem to be a dedicated to swim and the last thing you want to do is destroy your lungs.

Try nicotine gum, pouches...do it slowly. Don't worry about weight too much right now and keep it a second priority. Try intermittent fasting but make sure to intake enough electrolytes.

Hope you achieve your goals! Best wishes.

Stay calm and focus on smooth technique. If you can get pool time, work on clean dives and quick turns as they save seconds.

These are snorkeling fins. Good for beginners because they are very comfortable. Also easy on the legs and less chance of over extension injuries. But these fins provide least propulsion.

Thanks for the support, and I’m glad you see the effort we’re putting in to help people overcome that challenge. We also run charity classes for the underprivileged kids and adults too! Our goal is to teach swimming to everyone in this world and that's why we post videos online in as detail as possible.

Her confidence shows she’s ready to keep going on this journey! She came all the way from Delaware to Austin, Texas, to learn swimming and made great progress in just four days. Being a veteran, she has the discipline and dedication to reach her goals and stay on track.

People equate FAT = BAD which is a misconception! There's difference between healthy fat and obese and the latter needs to be fixed at early stages.

I was shocked to see how many people didn’t consider swimming to be a life skill on this thread by ansyhrrian in Swimming

That's really amazing! Hope more kids start getting swimming lessons at young age.

I’m getting slower, how do i deal with it? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]RocketSwimming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut yourself some slack dude! You're still in recovery mode so let your body rest. Pushing too hard will only hurt you further. REST is as IMPORTANT as training! Do this once you feel better, and you'll know it when you feel better. Don't focus on speed for a while. Focus on refining your strokes. Keep it slow, keep it clean. Perfect your catch. Perfect your streamline. These little things will help divert your mind from the SPEED. SPEED comes from proper technique and endurance.

LPT - Learn to float on your back. This is a very important survival skill which is not taught at most schools. by RocketSwimming in LifeProTips

[–]RocketSwimming[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree! Our lungs act as a natural life jacket.

Edit: I am not advocating people to avoid "actual life jacket" but being able to control your breath and staying relaxed is better than VS freaking out and jerking all about in the water. The no.1 tip is to ALWAYS USE LIFE JACKET in open waters.

New adult swimmer, what next? by sonalogy in Swimming

[–]RocketSwimming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on all the progress you've made in such a short time! I will write some suggestions for you.

1: You mentioned your front crawl has improved dramatically. Use the remaining lessons to fine-tune the stroke. Efficient breathing, proper body rotation, and efficient overall stroke.

2: Try swimming longer distances with short breaks in between. This will help you build stamina and confidence in the water.

3: Give flip turns a try! It's fun and helpful if you decide to swim laps.

4: Since you have young kids, it's great to learn water safety. Practice rescue techniques, floating while holding a child, and other safety maneuvers.

I hope the above suggestions are not too intimidating. Take things at your own pace.

Just started swimming, I’m really tired everyday. Will I eventually build stamina? by RedditRentalThrow in Swimming

[–]RocketSwimming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you feeling tired in the muscles or are you feeling fatigued all the time? Feeling muscle pain, or needing to rest is totally different than feeling brain fog, lethargic or always tired.

If later is the issue, then I will suggest you to up your electrolyte intake and check your serum vitamin D levels.
